The BMW iX1 is set to make its Malaysian debut as registration of interest (ROI) for the EV SUV is now open on BMW Malaysia’s website.

The BMW iX1 was revealed with a sole xDrive30 variant that is propelled by two electric motors, one located at the front axle and the other at the rear to give all-wheel drive capability. Maximum output is rated at 313 PS/494 Nm.

BMW says the iX1 xDrive30 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 180 km/h.

The BMW iX1 is using the fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology, which includes the car's charging system and a high-voltage battery located flat beneath the underbody that provides 64.7 kWh of usable energy.

BMW Malaysia’s website states that the iX1 has a WLTP-rated range of up to 440 km.

The onboard charger in the BMW iX1 accepts up to 11 kW for AC charging, allowing the battery to be fully recharged from empty in 6.5 hours. There's also an option increase to 22 kW.

With DC fast charging, the iX1 can be recharged at up to 130 kW, which sees the battery recharged from 10 to 80 percent capacity in 29 minutes.
