Chery Malaysia has strengthened its commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction through two significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signings with CARSOME and CARSOME Academy. The primary objective of these collaborations is to speed up the vehicle trade-in process and enhance soft skills within Chery's representative network.

In collaboration with CARSOME, Chery aims to streamline the trade-in experience for its customers. New Chery customers can opt for a seamless process by having CARSOME conduct a vehicle inspection at their preferred location.

Following the inspection, CARSOME will promptly provide a trade-in price. Once accepted, customers can hand over their old vehicles before or upon collecting their new Chery vehicles, promising transparency, convenience, and value in the car ownership journey.

The brand collaboration MoU was signed by Chery Auto Malaysia Vice President Lee Wen Hsiang and CARSOME Country Managing Director Chris Ang Tee Wei during Chery’s Annual Business Briefing held recently.

Chery Auto Malaysia Vice President Lee Wen Hsiang said both collaborations were timely for Chery Malaysia's growing customer base since the brand's debut in July last year.

“The collaboration with CARSOME will be beneficial and important for our dealers, especially with the increase in customers who seek to trade in their old cars for a new Chery vehicle,” he said.

To sweeten the deal, CARSOME introduces a special campaign for Chery dealers, offering an additional RM500 on top of the trade-in offer price for customers trading in their vehicles between January 15 to February 15, 2024.

The second MoU focuses on enhancing soft skills within Chery's representative network. This collaboration formalized between Chery Auto Malaysia's Network Development Director Soon Boon Ping and Jiun Ee Teoh, Co-founder of CARSOME and CEO of CARSOME Academy, aims to upskill the workforce through specialized training programs.

The agreement will centre on four aspects:

• Upskilling Workforce: Elevating Chery's existing and new workforce through specialised training programs.
• Peneraju Skil Motor Vehicle Inspection Programme: Extending the Peneraju Skil Motor Vehicle Inspection Programme to enhance the skills and knowledge of Chery’s workforce.
• Training & Placements: Providing on-the-job (OTJ) training and work placements at Chery for CARSOME Academy students under the Sistem Latihan Dual Nasional (SLDN) model.
• Marketing Initiatives: Engaging in mutually agreed marketing initiatives to foster collaboration and growth.

Chery Auto Malaysia Vice President Lee Wen Hsiang emphasized the timeliness of these collaborations, particularly with CARSOME, which addresses the rising demand from customers for Chery vehicles.

With plans to expand showrooms to 48 outlets by the end of 2024, Chery acknowledges the importance of focusing on customer service, ensuring the brand's future success in an expanding market.
