Customers in line for the CKD Chery Tiggo 8 Pro and Chery Omoda 5 need not wait long as expected deliveries are due to begin in August, in addition to the company ramping up production capabilities to fit demands.

"The expected delivery will begin in August onwards, and we're currently in the midst of negotiating to ramp up demands," explained Lee Wen Hsiang, who serves as the vice president of Chery Auto Malaysia.

"Without sharing numbers, we are getting very good feedback and very good bookings received so far. As a commitment from Chery, we'll continue to push to increase our capacity to meet the demand of the consumer," explained Lee.

Note that all customer cars will be CKD, built at the Inokom plant in Kulim, Kedah. The China-imported (CBU) units you see in showrooms only serve as dealer test cars.

The Omoda 5 was launched here yesterday, 6-July 2023, priced from RM 109k to RM 116k. Alongside that is the Tiggo 8 Pro, which starts from RM 160k.
