Chery Malaysia is set to organise its brand launch in Malaysia on 6-July 2023, at the same time introducing two of their SUVs: the Chery Omoda 5 and Chery Tiggo 8 Pro.

This comes after roughly one and a half years since we first heard of the brand's early proclaimation of their re-entry here, after which the creation of a social media community and preview drive for the media followed.

Chery's ambition in Malaysia is lofty; having penned a deal with Inokom in May 2023, the Omoda 5 and Tiggo 8 Pro will be locally-assembled (CKD) in Kulim, Kedah. They also aim on making our country the brand's regional assembly hub, in addition to solidifying their presence with 70 showrooms nationwide.

Their product plans for Malaysia only begins with the two named models, as the company has previously unveiled plans to introduce the Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV, Tiggo 7 Pro PHEV, Omoda 5 EV, and one more mystery model in the future.
