Following its recent preview, BMW Malaysia has announced the official price of the locally-assembled (CKD) BMW X5 xDrive50e M Sport LCI (G05) which comes in at RM 528,100 (OTR, sans insurance) inclusive of the BMW Service and Repair Inclusive (BSRI) extended service and warranty package (at RM 41,300).

The 2024 BMW X5 xDrive50e M Sport is equipped with a more potent PHEV powertrain, with a combined output of 489 PS – an increase of 96 PS compared to the xDrive45e – and a whopping 700 Nm of torque.

Power is derived from the (B58) 3.0-litre straight-six turbocharged petrol engine that makes 313 PS/450 Nm on its own, aided by an electric motor that delivers 197 PS/280 Nm. The powertrain enables the 2024 BMW X5 xDrive50e M Sport to achieve the century sprint in 4.8 seconds.

The PHEV's electric capabilities receive a boost, providing an electric range of up to 110 km (WLTP standard) from its 25.7 kWh (usable) battery and an improved 7.4 kW charging capacity, allowing for a 0-100% charge in 4.5 hours.

Inside, the X5 xDrive50e features a BMW Curved Display system featuring a 12.3-inch digital display cluster, integrated with a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment display that runs on BMW Operating System 8.5.

The system incorporates the BMW Live Cockpit Professional and BMW instrument panel that supports a range of interaction methods, including iDrive Controller, voice, touch, or optional Gesture Control.

Standard features also include an ambient Light Bar with a crystalline surface structure and the 16-speaker 415-watt Harman Kardon Surround sound system.

The centre console has been restructured with touch-sensitive function keys (meaning physical climate control buttons are gone), and gear changes are executed using a rocker switch.

In terms of safety, the 2024 BMW X5 xDrive50e is equipped with the Driving Assistant Professional package that bundles Active Cruise Control with stop and go function, automatic Speed Limit Assist and Active Navigation, Steering and Lane Control Assistant, and more.

It also features Parking Assistant Professional, which aids drivers in manoeuvring into parallel or perpendicular parking spaces. It can record steering movements up to 200 metres using the Reversing Assistant feature.

Standard colour options for the 2024 BMW X5 PHEV include Black Sapphire, Manhattan, Mineral White, and Skyscraper Grey. The "Merino" interior upholstery – from the BMW Individual Extended Leather catalogue is offered in either Black or Tartufo shades.

With the Easy Drive Financing Plan from BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia, the BMW X5 xDrive50e M Sport can be owned with a monthly instalment plan starting from RM 6,014 (based on estimates of an 80 percent loan on a five-year tenure) inclusive of an RM 10,000 Easy Drive cash rebate applicable until 31-March 2024, subject to T&Cs.
