BMW Malaysia has previewed the facelifted 2024 BMW X5 xDrive50e. Featuring the M Sport package as standard, the 2024 BMW X5 xDrive50e arrives locally assembled (CKD) from the Kulim plant.

Prices are estimated to start from RM 530,000, inclusive of the extended warranty and service package.

The 2024 BMW X5 xDrive50e M Sport is equipped with a more potent PHEV powertrain, with a combined output of 489 PS – an increase of 96 PS compared to before in the xDrive45e – and 700 Nm of torque.

This comes from the B58 3.0-litre straight-six turbocharged petrol engine that makes 313 PS/450 Nm on its own, complemented by an electric motor rated at 197 PS/280 Nm. The powertrain enables the 2024 BMW X5 xDrive50e M Sport to achieve a century sprint in 4.8 seconds.

The PHEV's electric capabilities receive a boost, providing an electric range of up to 110 km (WLTP) from its 25.7 kWh (usable) battery and an improved 7.4 kW charging capacity, allowing for a 0-100% charge in 4.5 hours.

Inside, the driver is greeted by the BMW Curved Display featuring a 12.3-inch digital display cluster, integrated with a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment display that runs on BMW Operating System 8.5.

The system incorporates the BMW Live Cockpit Professional and BMW instrument panel that supports a range of interaction methods, including iDrive Controller, voice, touch, or optional Gesture Control.

Standard features also include an ambient Light Bar with a crystalline surface structure and the 16-speaker 415-watt Harman Kardon Surround sound system.

The centre console has been restructured with touch-sensitive function keys (meaning physical climate control buttons are gone), and gear changes are executed using a rocker switch.

Safety wise, the 2024 BMW X5 xDrive50e is equipped with the Driving Assistant Professional package that bundles Active Cruise Control with stop and go function, automatic Speed Limit Assist and Active Navigation, Steering and Lane Control Assistant, and more.

It also features Parking Assistant Professional, which aids drivers in manoeuvring into parallel or perpendicular parking spaces. It can record steering movements up to 200 metres using the Reversing Assistant feature.

Standard colour options for the 2024 BMW X5 PHEV include Black Sapphire, Manhattan, Mineral White, and Skyscraper Grey. The "Merino" interior upholstery, a member of the BMW Individual Extended Leather family, is available in two colour options – Black and Tartufo.
