Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has launched the Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4Matic SUV. Priced at RM 699,888 (on-the-road without insurance, with 10% SST), this SUV is built on a dedicated electric platform (EVA2) and comes fully imported (CBU).

As with all Mercedes EQ models, the EQS SUV boasts a "Black Panel" front unit that seamlessly integrates the headlights and grille with a distinctive three-dimensional star pattern.

The EQS SUV features Digital Light headlamp technology, which is said to be reminiscent of video projectors, with a control unit and powerful graphic processor that generate precise light distribution.

It wears the AMG Line exterior with 22-inch AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels, aerodynamically optimized and painted in high-gloss black. Flush door handles and a panoramic sunroof come as standard.

Numerous aerodynamic features contribute to its impressive Cd value of 0.26. The aeroacoustic qualities of this vehicle are claimed to be among the best in its class, offering a serene interior even at high speeds.

The EQS SUV's chassis features a four-link front axle and a multilink rear suspension, paired with Airmatic suspension with continuously adjustable damping ADS+. The vehicle's ground clearance can be raised by up to 25 mm, and it offers multiple driving modes, including an Offroad mode.

Also standard is rear-axle steering with a steering angle of 10 degrees for added manoeuvrability in town driving.

The dual-motor setup provides all-wheel drive capability, generating a total output of 544 PS and 858 Nm. 0-100 km/h sprint is completed in 4.6 seconds.

Thanks to its 108.4 kWh (usable) battery, WLTP-rated range is up to 615 km. The battery management software allows over-the-air (OTA) updates to keep the vehicle's energy management up-to-date.

The onboard charger allows up to 22 kW AC, a first for a Mercedes-Benz EV in Malaysia, and supports both single-phase and three-phase charging. DC charging is rated at 200 kW.

Inside, the vehicle features the MBUX Hyperscreen like in its sedan counterpart, a massive 141 cm display that merges the driver's display, central screen, and front passenger display.

It gets the MBUX High-End Rear Seat Entertainment Plus that comprises two 11.6-inch displays with touch controls on the backrests of the driver and front passenger seats.

Audio is supplied by the 15-speaker Burmester 3D Surround Sound System. Apple Music’s Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos are supported. The sound system also provides the Sound Experiences, with the two soundscapes, Silver Waves and Vivid Flux, available out of the box.

The large Augmented Reality Head-up Display (AR-HUD) shows relevant information and actions three-dimensionally in the real driving situation.

Being a 7-seater, the EQS SUV's third row seats can be folded to create a flat floor. For easy access to the back, the second-row seats come with a standard "Easy Entry" feature, allowing the backrest to move forward by up to 290 mm.

In terms of safety, the EQS SUV is equipped with the Driving Assistance Package Plus. This package includes Distronic Plus, Extended Automatic Re-start in traffic jams, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Steering Assist, and Evasive manoeuvre support, Pre-Safe impulse side, and Rear sensors for the lane departure assistant.

There’s also the Parking Package with 360-degree camera and Active Parking Assist with Parktronic.

The Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4Matic SUV comes with the standard 4-year warranty, while the high-voltage battery has a 10-year/250,000km warranty, whichever comes first.
