Though Japan's thinning sedan market has witnessed the discontinuation of the Toyota Camry due to slow sales, its rival, the Honda Accord will soldier on, reports website Creative 311 through information gathered through its dealer contacts.
Earmarked for a February 2024 launch, the all-new 11th-gen Accord is said to be sold there in just a single hybrid variant that pairs a 2.0-litre inline-four to the e:HEV dual-motor setup. More notable is that Japan is now in the running to be car's first-ever right-hand drive (RHD) market, having debuted in the United States of America late last year.
It's also touted to receive the new Honda Sensing 360 ADAS suite, which improves upon today's Sensing by way of extended effective range, more radars, and added functionality. Creature comforts said to be equipped in the new Accord are Bose audio, a 12.3-inch touchscreen headunit (Honda's largest ever), and even adaptive suspension.
Though its pricetag is understandably not set yet, the publication estimates the new Accord to start from JPY 5.5 - 6 million (~RM 178k - RM 195k), a circa 17% rise from the old car's price of JPY 4.6 million (~RM 158k).
Closer to home, the car was spotted roaming around in Thailand fairly recently but no news have emerged from that market since then.
