Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP) has today unveiled the latest in the long line of 911 flagships, the Porsche 911 Turbo S. Porsche's rear-engined, all-wheel-drive, all-weather supercar starts from RM 2,235,463 (OTR without insurance, with SST discount). Better hurry, then.
Powering the latest 992-generation 911 Turbo S is an all-new 3.8-litre, twin turbocharged flat-six engine, delivering 650 PS and 800 Nm. Porsche's latest and greatest also gets a bespoke 8-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox (PDK in Porsche-lingo) which is specific to Turbo-badged models only (the Carrera models are also turbocharged now, confused much?). The 911 Turbo lineage has always been known for their eye-widening acceleration, and this one doesn't disappoint, doing the century sprint in a scarcely-believeable 2.7 seconds.

Supplementing all the performance is adaptive aerodynamics, dubbed Porsche Active Aerodynamics (PAA). As the name suggests, PAA alters the car's aerodynamic characterisics according to driving situation, speed and selected driving mode. This will ensure the 911 Turbo S gets the best balance between low drag and high downforce.
The Porsche Traction Management (PTM) AWD system in this latest 911 Turbo S is also improved, now capable of sending up to 500 Nm to the front axle. Helping the car stay in control is standard Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) electronic adaptive dampers that enhances roll stability, road holding, steering behaviour and cornering speeds. A sports exhaust system is also standard, to deliver that distinctive flat-six growl.
Starting from RM 2.2 million, would this Porsche 911 Turbo S make your list of most-wanted supercars? It definitely makes my list, not many supercars can live with how accelerative this 911 Turbo S is.
