The Mercedes-Benz CLE has its entrance into the Malaysian market following the opening of Registration of Interest (ROI) in February. Previewed for the Malaysian market is the Mercedes-Benz CLE 300 4Matic, estimated to be priced at RM 526,000 when it goes on sale soon.

If you don’t already know, the Mercedes-Benz CLE is a new addition to the Mercedes' global lineup, merging the previous C- and E-Class Coupe models into one stylish 2-door model.

Under the hood of the CLE 300 is a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine which develops 258 PS and 400 Nm of torque. The engine is further aided by a 23 PS/205 Nm integrated starter generator (ISG).

Power is routed to all four-wheels through a 9-speed automatic transmission. Performance wise, the CLE 300 is claimed to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.2 seconds onto a top speed of 250 km/h.

Spanning 4,850 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, and 1,428 mm in height, with a 2,865 mm wheelbase, the CLE Coupe subtly leans closer towards the (W206) C-Class dimensions. The wheelbase of both models is identical as well.

An ode to Mercedes’ long heritage of luxury coupes, the CLE 300 features a sleek silhouette with brand’s "shark nose" front fascia and a low-slung beltline. The Malaysian spec CLE 300 notably receives the Digital Light package which can project symbols onto the road, as well as the AMG line exterior package, Night Package additions and 19-inch AMG alloy wheels.

Other notable features include a panoramic sliding sunroof, exterior ambient lighting with logo projection of the brand logo, and Mercedes’ independent rear-wheel steering system.

The CLE 300 rides on the  Dynamic Body Control suspension system with adjustable damping. 

The interior of the CLE 300 is finished with Artico man-made leather and features new sports seats designed exclusively for the CLE with ventilation and a memory function.

Elsewhere there is also the (3rd generation) MBUX Navigation Premium system consisting of a 12.3-inch digital driver display and an 11.9-inch central infotainment display, replete with wireless charging at the front. There is also a Burmester 3D surround sound system with Dolby Atmos.

In addition, the CLE 300 also gets Driving Assistance Package Plus safety suite which consists of the following feature amongst others:

• Active Steering Assist
• Evasive manoeuvre support
• Parking package with Memory Parking Assist
• Active Parking Assist with Parktronic
• 360-degree camera
