The upcoming all-new 2023 Honda CR-V has once again been spotted testing on Malaysian roads.
The all-new 2023 Honda CR-V is one of four new models that Honda Malaysia plans to launch in 2023. The heavy camouflaged test unit, which wears a trade plate that can be traced back to Honda Malaysia, was caught by Facebook user Yew Eng Seong, en route between Pekan to Endau Rompin today.
This isn't the first time it's been snapped, having previously been spotted in Pahang and KL as well.
The all-new CR-V has been launched Thailand with two powertrain options across 5 variants priced between THB 1.419 million and THB 1.729 million (~RM 186k-227k).
Thai customers get to choose between a turbocharged 1.5-litre VTEC engine (192 PS/240 Nm) or a 2.0-litre two-motor i-MMD petrol-electric hybrid (Combined 185 PS/335 Nm).
Standard on the Thai-spec CR-V include LED headlights, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 9-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as an 8 speaker audio system.
Honda Sensing is also available as standard on the all-new CR-V in the Land of Smiles which include:
Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)
Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)
Road Departure Mitigation with Lane Departure Warning (RDM with LDW)
Automatic High Beam (AHB)
Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-speed Follow (ACC with LSF)
Lead Car Departure Notification (LCDN)
More recently, the 2023 CR-V was also showcased in Indonesia - alongside the 2024 Honda Accord - at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS 2023). Prices have been confirmed - between INR 739 million to INR 799 million(RM 224k to RM 242k).
Prices for the all-new CR-V have gone up by around 4.4 percent in Thailand and around 10.5 percent in Indonesia, compared to the previous generation. As such, that price hike should also be expected over the current selling prices once the sixth-gen model goes on sale in Malaysia.
The outgoing fifth-genration CR-V is still on sale in Malaysia and the following are the prices (Peninsular Malaysia, without insurance) and variants offered:
Arvind can't remember a time when he didn't wheel around a HotWheels car. This love evolved into an interest in Tamiya and RC cars and finally the real deal 1:1 scale stuff. Passion finally lead to formal training in Mechanical Engineering. Instead of the bigger picture, he obsesses with the final drive ratio and spring rates of cars and spends the weekends wondering why a Perodua Myvi is so fast.
