Right after the 2023 Honda City sedan underwent its facelift (launched last week), photos of the 2023 Honda City Hatchback facelift undergoing tests in Thailand have since circulated, courtesy of auto sites Ridebuster and Car2day.

The breadth of updates should follow very closely as its sedan sibling; that's to say redesigned front- and rear bumpers, and new wheels as well. In case you've missed that – have a look at the sedan pics below, the look now is a touch more elegant compared to the sporty nature of the pre-facelift model.

The City Hatchback facelift's Honda Sensing ADAS array should also gain Lead Car Departure Notification (LCDN). Higher-up variants stand to have Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow (LSF), if it follows the sedan's tact.

Powertrains shouldn't see any big changes, which means the Thailand-spec City Hatchback facelift ought to keep these options:

• 1.0L VTEC turbo 3-cyl; 122 PS/173 Nm, CVT
• 1.5L e:HEV hybrid, (4-cyl NA + 2 electric motors); 109 PS/253 Nm combined

Note that there's no 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated engine in the line-up, to comply with the Kingdom's Eco Car regulations.

Honda City Hatchback facelift in Malaysia

Thai media pegs for the City Hatchback facelift to only make its debut later this year, so we should be receiving it at around the later part of 2023 as well. For now, Honda Malaysia's nearest launches are the 2023 Honda WR-V (happening tomorrow), and the City sedan facelift itself.

For reference, prices of the current City Hatchback in Malaysia are as follows:

• 1.5 S: RM 78,900
• 1.5 E: RM 86,900
• 1.5 V: RM 91,900
• 1.5 V Sensing: RM 95,900
• 1.5 RS e:HEV: RM 109,800
