Come tomorrow, GAC Motor will be making its debut in Malaysia and the first model that the Guangzhou-based company will launch is the Trumpchi GS3 Power.

For Malaysia, GAC Motor will be represented by WTC Automotif – a new subsidiary set up by Warisan TC Holdings. The first GAC Motor showroom is located beside Tan Chong Motor’s headquarters along Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah (formerly Jalan Ipoh).

According to GAC Motor’s social media posts, their first model launch, which will be the Trumpchi GS3 Power, is set to happen tomorrow (28-December). While details are scarce at this moment, the posts mentioned that the SUV “is equipped with a high-efficiency powertrain and smart, user-oriented equipment. That translates to excellent handling and control with super soothing driving experience.”
What is the Trumpchi GS3 Power?

It is a subcompact crossover (B-segment) that competes agaisnt the likes of the Proton X50, Perodua Ativa, and Honda HR-V.

The Trumpchi GS3 Power can be had with several powertrain options, including a turbocharged 1.5-litre 3-pot that does 163 PS and 235 Nm, mated to a 6-speed manual, as well as 4-pot version that does 168 PS and 265 Nm. The latter is mated to a 6-speed automatic.

Thus far, we’ve seen the GS3 Power countless times on Malaysian streets, including a glimpse at its interior. Furthermore, judging from early spyshots, WTC Automotif could be offering at least two variants of the GS3 Power here.
