This should go without saying but this isn't how the actual car will look like, it's the easiest way to show both colours.

If you own a Honda BR-V, we’re sorry for the harsh headline but we stand by its veracity though. It’s good at what it does but doesn’t really stir the soul and that’s perfectly fine because function over form and all that.

Well, now there’re a couple of new shades on the colour palette that would make it easier on the eyes. Honda Malaysia has just introduced two new colours, Ignite Red Metallic and Meteoroid Gray Metallic, for its BR-V. The new colour will replace the existing Passion Red Pearl and Modern Steel Metallic colours respectively.

Since its launch in June 2020, the facelifted 7-seater crossover has sold more than 5,700 units as of April 2022. The encouraging sales performance is attributed to its overall design that meets customers’ needs of incredible versatility with stylish design cues inspired by SUVs.

“Honda Malaysia has introduced the Ignite Red Metallic and Meteoroid Gray Metallic colours in our hatchback and sedan line-up, namely the City Hatchback, City, and Civic, while the Accord also offers the Meteoroid Gray Metallic colour. These colours have been receiving good response from the market. In view of the good acceptance, we now continue to expand the new colours to the BR-V. We’re confident that the introduction of the new colour options will further excite customers who would like to purchase the BR-V” laid out Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Hironobu Yoshimura.

As a recap, the BR-V is powered by a 1.5-litre SOHC i-VTEC engine that makes 120 PS and 145 Nm of torque sent to the front wheels via a CVT. The top-spec V-variant gets paddle shifters.

What truly makes the BR-V popular is its versatility courtesy of the 223 litres of trunk space when all the seats are up as well as the multiple configurations for seating to maximise cargo space with the 60:40 one-touch tilt and tumble second row seats and 50:50 tilt and full tumble third row. Cargo space grows to 539 litres with the third row down.

If you want to check out the new shades on the BR-V, you can always drop by your nearest Honda dealer. The all-new BR-V though is expected to launch in Malaysia sometime towards the end of 2022 or early 2023.

“Better late than never.” Some despise it, others begrudgingly agree with it but he swears by it… much to the chagrin of everyone around him. That unfortunately stems from all of his project cars not running most of the time, which in turn is testament to his questionable decision-making skills in life. A culmination of many wrongs fortunately making a right; much like his project cars on the rare occasions they run, he’s still trying to figure out if another project car is the way to go.
