BYD has launched the updated 2024 BYD Atto 3 in Japan, priced at JPY 4.5 million (around RM 143k). Changes include a new exterior colour, minor exterior tweaks, and a larger infotainment display with added features.

The new exterior colour option, "Cosmos Black," has been added in addition of the interior colour combination, "Black/Dark Blue." These aesthetic enhancements are complemented by changes to the window trim and D-pillar plate, which have been revamped to match the selected body colour.

The “Build Your Dreams” emblem on the tailgate has also been updated, now matching the front with only the initials “BYD.”

Inside, the updated Atto 3 is equipped with a larger 15.6-inch touchscreen display, replacing the previous 12.8-inch screen. The introduction of the BYD Store expands the vehicle's connectivity options, allowing users to access popular applications such as "Amazon Music," "Search Browser," and "Karaoke" directly from the vehicle's interface.
The inclusion of the "Search Browser" app enables users to conduct internet searches on the go, while the "Karaoke" app - with the option to connect a separate microphone – transforms the vehicle into a mobile entertainment hub.

The rest of the Atto 3 remains unchanged, propulsion comes from a front-mounted electric motor with 204 PS/310 Nm. Powered by a 59 kWh battery, it offers a WLTP range of 470 km. The vehicle also includes Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) functionalities.
