How fast is a Mercedes?

Are you asking how fast they can theoretically go? Or how quick they accelerate? Most Mercedes are electronically limited to around 130 MPH here in the states, but can theoretically go faster depending on the horsepower rating of the car. There’s a lot of engineering that goes into that theoretical number, but alas, you have stumbled upon the wrong user for that explanation. Now, if you were asking about how quickly they accelerate, it will again depend on the specific car. Keep in mind that all of the 0–60 MPH times are listed on their website, but Benz tends to under estimate performance numbers. For example, they posted that a 2018 C300 4MATIC will do the run in 6 seconds flat, but popular car review websites will have tests performed where it will be closer to 5.8. This is pretty rare and unusual for an auto manufacturer, as normally they will tend to over estimate numbers if anything. I would say most of our normal range cars (non AMG) will do it around 6 seconds, while the SUVs will be anywhere from 5.0–7.5s, and they are typically among the quickest examples in their class, often off by a few tenths of a second in either direction compared to the competing car in the BMW lineup. Here are some of the better examples I can think of based upon either reviews I have read or my personal times I have observed: CAR CLA 250 4MATIC 6.4 C 300 4MATIC 5.8 E 300 4MATIC 6.3–6.9 E 400 4MATIC COUPE/SEDAN 5.0–5.4 S 450 4MATIC 4.8–5.0 S 560 4MATIC 4.5 SL 550 4.3–4.5 SUV GLA 250 4MATIC 6.5–6.7 GLC 300 4MATIC 6.3–6.5 GLS 450 6.5 GLS 550 5.0–5.2 G 550 5.8

Why are so many Mercedes Benz AMG models numbered 63?

Basically 63 represent the engine power. Further, AMG models have different hierarchy worldwide: • Mercedes-AMG CLS 63 • Mercedes-AMG E 63 • Mercedes-AMG G 63 • Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 • Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 • Mercedes-AMG S 63 (pre-facelift only) • Mercedes-AMG SL 63, and more. So, why AMG models are numbered 63? Here are the reasons. • The models numbered 63 come up with 5.5 L V8 BiTurbo • Types 63 is used for v8 models with direct fuel injection The AMG 63 model is also said to many advantages over AMG 65 model • AMG 63 models are typically faster than theAMG 65 models • AMG S63 accelerates faster and is better in handling than AMG S65

Is a Mercedes SUV going too far? Does it taint the brand?

Any SUV taints the brand. Now, incidentally, “taint” is also a colloquial phrase for the, anatomy right next to the butthole on a woman,. (Link doesn’t have graphics, but the language is NSFW) So, yes, taint it, it does. Take this wagon: E-Class Wagon | Mercedes-Benz Compare it to this taint monstrosity: 2019 GLS Large Luxury SUV The wagon has 35 cubic feet, then fold down the rear seats and you get 64 cubic feet of cargo capacity. The GLS has 16 cubic feet, until you fold down the 3rd seats, and then you get 93.8 cubic feet. Why cargo? Why else do you buy a SUV? It can’t turn. It can’t accelerate. And it sucks down gas like… like.. well, it sucks a lot of gas. Guzzles it like a crazed Yale fraternity kid and a case of beer from the 80s! Nailed it. The wagon is faster, (can make it stupid fast), it turns better, gets better mileage, and most importantly to most Benz customers: looks better. A lot better. Now, a car is also a tool, not just driven by tools. And you should seek the best tool for the job. If you need to transport people, as opposed to, for example, needing something that swallows wind surfing gear, then you get a mini-van. Nothing is more comfortable for passengers, not many vehicles are more usable. But, the fact is, most Benz buyers wouldn’t be caught dead in a mini-van. So they will spend 3 times more on the GLS and enjoy *zero* benefits of the mini-van. they’ll spend 3 times more, ,to have less,. In my book, that’s stupidity. But Benz needs to be profitable to make their other amazing cars. So they will sell Americans SUVs. And, finally, setting aside stupidity, do you know why Americans love SUVs? because they’re fat! Fat people love sliding into a seat and not stooping down into a car. So there you have it folks, SUVs, particularly luxury ones, are for fat and stupid people. You read it here.

What is the best SUV?

In my opinion, Toyota Land Cruiser is the best all-round SUV money can buy. According to wikipedia's SUV page, “an SUV (sport utility vehicle or suburban utility vehicle) is a vehicle classified as a light truck, but used as a family vehicle”. Conventionally SUVs have been loaded with off-road tech. But most cars which falls under SUV category these days are more road based than off -road, but they have other USPs, which does appeal. This is the way I would love to define an SUV: “an SUV is a vehicle, that is capable of carrying atleast five people, pampering them with seats as comfortable as your couch in your home, while it is going berserk in terrains where, bear grills did a man vs wild episode”. Because an SUV that is not a capable off-road is as ridiculous as that hummer in the end credits of cars movie, which doesn't camp as per the willys mb's advice that says “i don't want to get my rims dirty” and would be as crazy as bruce wayne driving tumbler with katie holmes on passenger side waiting for signal to turn green on his way to his wayne enterprises office or even imagine batman doing the same in a toyota prius in pursuit of joker with catwoman on passenger side now. Where's the fun in it? Okay that's exaggerated. Now back to the topic. The following features are present in most full sized SUV's and these are what makes SUV, that is also a capable off-road vehicle, High ground clearance. Seats atleast five with boot volume capacity of not lesser than 700 litres. 4 wheel drive: ,Either full time with lockable differentials or that could be transferable to two wheel drive only mode or torque split which splits torque between front and rear axles. The Toyota land cruiser is loaded with all the above basic tech with a bunch of other off road tech. But this SUV, Couldn't be driven and handled as enthusiastically as a bimmer x5 or x6. Wouldn't offer a ride as supple as a merc gls. Isn't loaded with cutting edge tech such as quattro tech or 4 wheel steering, that is said to offer leech like grip, both of which audi q7 boasts. Isn't loaded with launch control or race track dynamics that porsche cayman , jaguar f pace has. Doesn't accelerate from 0 to 100 kph under four seconds which, lamborghini urus will do and which will also be the fastest SUV on planet when it goes on sale. Doesn't offer similar status and prestige that bentley bentayga or rolls cullinan will. Isn't loaded with those cool tech that the limo one might have, (the current limo one, cadillac beast is speculated to be based on a medium duty truck, so technically that makes the limousine an SUV doesn't it?), which GM once said that one of the car's features is they don't disclose it. But of course only potus can use it. But what this SUV does is what a typical ladder -on-frame SUV does and does the best at it. This SUV is as capable as a range rover or a jeep grand cherokee or a mercedes g-wagen when it comes to off-road prowess and even fares well when it comes to pricing and reliable mechanicals, as the rangie has too many sophisticated electronic aids it might be tricky to get it serviced at remote locations, but land cruiser on the other hand uses some decades old tried and tested mechanicals. Is a BMW or a Volvo better?

Is a BMW or a Volvo better? Volvo is hands-down better in the SUV class. ,As of December 2017, it’s one of the few companies that offers a plug-in hybrid electric SUV, and the only one that has 7 seats. As for my overall opinion, I think Volvo is better than BMW in general, too, for reasons of its overall image and reputation on safety and reliability. I remember hearing about Volvo’s reputation for safety over 20 years ago as a child, and now that I own one, and am a family man with two kids of my own, I couldn’t agree more. Quoting another answer, ,Jan Kannemacher's answer to Why is Volvo not as well known as Audi, Mercedes and BMW? Volvo has been a "safety first" company for a long time. When it comes to design, a German car magazine (forgot which) once wrote that Volvos mostly looked as if a Norse god had hewn them out of solid rock with an axe. If I were to go back a decade, to my 20’s, I probably would have picked BMW, and not even considered Volvo. That’s how good BMW’s marketing is, with all the James Bond movies and such. My wife and I were recently in the market for a new ,7 seater vehicle,, ideally plug-in hybrid or all electric. Our options, after investigating the entire landscape were the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, Tesla Model X, Mercedes GLS, Lexus LX 570, or Volvo XC90. ,BMW did not even enter the picture,. After one more pass, criteria being eco-friendly (electric), the real options were Pacifica Hybrid, Tesla Model X, or Volvo. The Pacifica was plagued by drivetrain issues, so we decided to stay away. Eventually, we bought a XC90 T8 (Twin Engine, Plugin Hybrid) a couple of months ago. We were looking to go electric but couldn’t justify the price tag on the Tesla Model X. It gets about 15–16 miles on battery only. Most of my wife’s driving is around town and we rarely need to deplete the battery and use gas. It also has the ability to use both the electric motor and gasoline engine at the same time, to achieve a whopping 400 hp! Man, that sucker goes fast. And it gets 59 MPGe. We used to have to fill up at the gas station about once a week. Recently… we’ve gone a month and a half without having to go to a gas station—nearly 900 miles between fill-ups. Compare that to a base model Tesla Model X, which will be around $90k before anything else is added in, and after all is factored in, would be at least $105k for comparable features to our Volvo (not including the battery, which is obviously much bigger, but less relevant for local only driving) which was around $83k out the door after various incentives stacked on top of each other. But I digress. We love our Volvo, and all its convenience and subtle, unexpected touches that make for pleasant and delightful surprises, like when the heated seats automatically came on last night because it detected the discrepancy between the current versus my desired cabin temperature. Neither BMW nor Mercedes offered a 7 seater in either plug-in hybrid or full electric (or 5-seater, for that matter!) The only other luxury SUV with that is hybrid, but not plug-in, is the Lexus RX 450h, but it only seats 5. 7 seats is an absolute must for 2 adults, 2 kids, and grandparents in tow. The particular model we have also has pilot assist, very much similar to Tesla’s Autopilot. It is capable of steering and acceleration assistance for long periods of time as long as you keep at least a finger on the steering wheel. With this feature enabled, I can drive long distances without feeling tired. Edited: Here’s another point to consider: Uber ATX (Pittsburgh) is developing its autonomous vehicles based on a fleet of Volvo XC90 vehicles. ,Volvo Cars Will Supply Uber With Up to 24,000 Self-Driving Cars,. Why didn’t Uber, with its deep pockets, practically limitless resources, and teams of the smartest people in the world, go with BMW or Mercedes as a partner instead? Might quality, stability, and reliability have been factors? Addendum 2018.07.11 This past weekend was somewhat lazy for me, so I browsed Amazon Prime Video, and stumbled upon and re-watched all the Twilight films. Edward Cullen drives two different Volvos in the movie, an S60 and an XC60, ,. Carlisle Cullen, Edward’s foster/vampire father, has a net worth of $46B, according to the Forbes Fictional 15.,

Do you prefer Audi or Mercedes?

Aesthetically, it depends on the model, but nobody can deny that an Audi R8 or A5 looks really nice. I’ve never owned cars from either brand, but I have driven friend’s cars or rental cars from both brands, specifically a couple A8, A5, A3, Q5 and also Mercedes CLA, E-class, S-class, GLS. They are all fine cars, look great, great finish. But when it comes to handling, the Audis felt really heavy and sluggish (turbo lag, doesn’t turn well), whereas the Mercedes were responsive and sharp, be it in direction changes, braking, or acceleration. They felt more precise and planted. Infotainment is a bit better on Audi but Mercedes is nearly as nice. As such, since they are pretty much equivalent in looks, comfort and general luxury, the handling / driving experience makes, for me subjectively, Mercedes a winner. By the way, BMWs handle better. But they have a worse finish and comfort…
