suzuki alto ncap Q&A Review

How much speed can achieve Maruti Suzuki Alto on highway?

This are some videos which saw us the top speed of Alto . See the vibration and handle condition of it. According to me, it is not about high speed. It should be at what speed I am safe in ALTO car. Hope you understand my point. Consider others option before buying ALto and check the Rating of NCAP.

Which Indian cars have passed the NCAP crash test in 2016 ?

Bro , It scored an extremely respectable 4-star rating for front adult occupants. In 2014, Global NCAP had tested a few other Indian cars. The list included the likes of ,Datsun GO,, ,Maruti Suzuki Swift,, ,Maruti Suzuki Alto,, Hyundai i10, ,Tata Nano,, and ,Volkswagen Polo So, Have you Got your Answer ?

What is legal in india and is illegal in other countries?

Let me try to explain which things are valid in India but illegal in another countries. Lifebuoy Soap These soaps are considered bad for the skin, and are apparently only used to clean certain animals abroad. It is openly sold in India as a regular soap for humans however. Tata Nano Our beloved low price vehicle failed the independent crash test conducted by Gobal NCAP. This basically means that occupants of the car would be at risk of life threatening injuries. They banned it in other countries, but not here. Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 Another one that failed a whole string of safety tests and guidelines, this car is also banned in several other countries, but is pretty popular here. D-Cold Total Another medicine that's hugely popular here but banned abroad, D-Cold can apparently lead to kidney problems. Rather a cold and flu than that! Nimulid:- Nimulid is a tablet that is used for acute pain Thrombophlebitis and other ,conditions.it, is banned in most of the countries because it has lot of side effects. Thanks.

How is the build quality, safety and NCAP crash test rating of the Maruti Suzuki Alto?

In the 64km/h NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) test, the Suzuki-Maruti Alto 800 achieved a zero-star rating for its adult occupant protection. The vehicle structure was rated as unstable, increasing the risk of life-threatening injuries and making the car unsuitable for the fitment of airbags. Using the child seats recommended by Suzuki-Maruti, the Alto 800 achieved a two-star rating for child protection. The Alto 800 was also not able to meet the UN’s minimum safety requirements in the 56km/h crash test. More details on the link ,Suzuki Maruti Alto 800: India’s best selling car fails to meet minimum safety standard - Global NCAP Currently if my information is correct, the most safest vehicle by Maruti Suzuki is Vitara Brezza which bagged a score of 4 stars. Rest Ertiga & Ignis bagged 3 stars. WagonR & Swift bagged 2 stars respectively. P.S. NCAP score is subjected to many parameters like child and adult occupant protection, offset crash tests, side impact crash tests etc. which keeps on changing as per different regional norms, regulations & also as the cars are evolving and getting more upgraded. The higher the star rating, the safer the car.

What are some facts about India that Indians are generally unaware of?

There's a whole lot of stuff that's banned in India, and the movement is only getting larger. So these are things that we generally use and is banned abroad. Haldiram's According to the data by US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), more than half the snacks that have been taken off the shelves in the last five months were of Indian make. The US FDA recently reported that wafers, cookies and biscuits from one of India's biggest sweets and snacks manufacturer contains poisonous and adulterated content. They said that the products are "filthy, putrid or decomposed-otherwise unfit". 2. ,Red Bull Red Bull was banned in France and Denmark, and remains banned in Lithuania for people under 18 years of age. The energy drink can lead to heart problems, depression, hypertension and convulsions, though I personally don't mind one every now and then. 3. Samosas Samosas are banned in Somalia, all thanks to the Jihadist terrorist group Al-Shabaab. These samosa haters enforced the ban in the areas they control by claiming the food was "too Christian". Al-Qaeda would be so disappointed. 4. ,Tata Nano Our beloved low price vehicle failed the independent crash test conducted by Gobal NCAP. This basically means that occupants of the car would be at risk of life threatening injuries. They banned it in other countries, but not here. 5. ,Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 Another one that failed a whole string of safety tests and guidelines, this car is also banned in several other countries, but is pretty popular here. 6. ,Tomato ketchup in France The French government banned tomato ketchup in the year 2011 from elementary schools, so that the French cuisine doesn’t get overshadowed by the condiment. 7. ,Kinder eggs in the US Citing health concerns, the US government put a strict ban on the sale of Kinder Surprise Eggs in the country. Dating back to 1938, the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act of US banned all candies embedded with non-nutritive objects. Hence, the ban was imposed on these little treats. Also, the government thought that the hidden toy could be a choking hazard for the little children. 8. ,Chewing gum banned in Singapore The Singapore Statute Chapter 57 in the year 1992 restricted the use, distribution and trade of all kinds of chewing gums. But in the year 2004, due to international pressure the country allowed therapeutic dental chewing gums. Source.

Even though Maruti is the largest in sales in India, why are some Indians reluctant to buy any Maruti Suzuki model? Does the lack of snob value in the Maruti brand have anything to do with it?

I thank the Government of India for coming up with BNVSAP Crash Safety norms which necessitates every car sold in India after October 2019 to comply to a minimum level of crash worthiness. If this were not to happen many manufacturers would have continued to offer highly unsafe vehicles to Indian customers while making safer cars for export market. For e.g. according to earlier tests by Global NCAP , a ,Thailand’s Celerio scored 3 stars whereas more costly Indian Swift scored 0 stars, as per this article ,Thailand's Suzuki Celerio is safer than India's Maruti Swift Similarly, ,made in India Swift for European markets scored 5 stars ,but this is not sold in India. India’s top selling Maruti cars Alto, Celerio, Swift and Eeco all scored 0 stars in test by Global NCAP. French manufacturer Renault was pulled up by Global NCAP for offering unsafe vehicle in India when it offers safer vehicles around the world. ,Indian Kwid scored 0 stars whereas Latin Market Kwid scored 3 stars ,in NCAP tests. It has always been a corporate belief that Indian customers do not consider how safe a car is when making a buying decision and companies have easily escaped the moral responsibility by stating that non existent Indian Laws at the time did not require them to make safer cars. But this has not stopped TATA, Ford or Toyota from always offering cars with solid build quality. As per recent results, ,updated 2018 Swift on Heartect platform scored only 2 stars in Global NCAP Test, whereas an older 2016 Toyota Etios had scored 4-stars. Similarly, Tata Zest launched in 2014 and Ford’s Aspire launched in 2015 had achieved 4 star and 3 star respectively. Tata’s commitment to making safer cars can be gauged easily as ,Tata Nexon became the first Indian car ever to achieve a full 5-star safety rating. Ford never fooled Indian customers as the Ford Ecosport sold in India has the same structural integrity as the model exported to America. Even now any Tata car is considered safer than a Maruti car of the same segment. Now you know why many safety conscious customers are reluctant to buy Maruti cars.

What is the smallest and best automatic car in India?

Small and best ( for my preferences) petrol Automatic cars that are available in India during Feb 2019 in India. What are my preferences : Reliability, Service quality, Decent looks, Practicality, Safety. We are taking about cars that are easy to drive in and around city, with good fuel efficiency, price range between 4–7 lakh INR. Automatic Manual Transmission cars are fitted with manual transmission that can shift automatically( We don’t have to shift gears but you will feel it shift ). 1)Suzuki Alto k10–1000 cc- Least safe(no ABS, single airbag), Smallest engine but engineered well to keep the power adequate, no integrated parking sensors or camera, little bit old styled( in my opinion), Fuel efficiency is the best among three compared. 2) Suzuki Celerio-1000 cc- Safe(ABS,EBD and Dual airbags, NCAP rating 3 stars ), small and responsive engine with hydraulic gear shifter. 3) Hyundai Santro- 1100 CC- Newest to the market, Safer than the K10(ABS, strong mechanical structure), comes with integrated parking sensors and camera, Better on styling(you again it is my opinion), Less efficient(not in engineering terms) than the K10. 4) Tata Tiago -1200 CC- Safer than K10(ABS, Strong mechanical structure). Engine is adequate with power(for a small car), Good styling( again my opinion), the functions list is longer than the other two, bigger engine make it less efficient(now we are not taking inn engineering terms) than the Santro. 5) Suzuki Ignius -1200 cc-safe(ABS,EBD and Dual airbags, NCAP rating 4 stars),small responsive engine with contemporary looks. Most expensive on the lot.

After the failure of Tata nano in 2009, how are its sales in the Indian market now and what can be expected of it in future?

I was hoping someone would ask this question. Although the question binds me to reflect on the sales of Nano but I would like to reflect on the more potent question, i.e. development of the car itself. It's rather unfortunate that the vision of India's most fervent business leader could not live up to his expectations at least in terms of sales but what astonishes me the most is the sheer dis-respect shown to the engineering developments of the car. For someone who has worked for Tata Motors R&D, I dare say that it's a failure. It's an engineering marvel! Till date, it is the only car with a combustion engine to be priced at 2000 euros/3000 dollars. Although, there are several established names in the automotive sector(whose names I need not take) but neither the German nor the American auto industry could come up with a feasible, commercially viable product even with their productivity, technical expertise and engineering utilization. People working in the R&D division at Tata Motors are constantly striving to improve the performance of the Nano but one should realize that you cannot expect the dynamics of a BMW, NVH of a Mercedes or safety of a Volvo from a 1.5 lakh car. The cost constraint makes it extremely difficult to deliver a car that meets all the performance attributes. To add to the company's owes, negative publicity and continuously falling sales haven't helped its cause either. Nevertheless, the brilliant packaging, an extremely powerful A/c, a revolutionary 2 cylinder rear engine (an auto engineer would know that balancing a 2 cylinder engine is a herculean task) and a sleek, compact design are few of the brilliant implications of applied engineering at TML. (I'm sure my friends currently working there can give you a deeper insight into the above aspects) I guess I can write a few words related to safety here as I believe there was a huge hue and cry created in the media, especially related to safety of the Nano. First of all, let me bring it to your notice that not all cars that come out of a production plant are an exact replica of the blue-print that is prepared for the car. There are several varying parameters such as material and geometrical scatter but let's not go there for now. Well, the repercussions of this major factor are severe and even companies like Toyota, Ford have to recall some of their products due to faulty aggregates or parts. Similarly, the blue print that was prepared for the Nano was fully secure but the margin for error for a car like Nano is pretty small which on certain occasions might have led to unfortunate events. Yet those were rectified and the car is completely secure now. Moving on, another measure of safety of a car is the NCAP tests and ever since its conception the Nano has been pitted against the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10. Here's a look at how they perform : India’s bestselling car Alto K10 scores zero in crash test conducted by Latin NCAP | Passionate In Marketing Maruti Alto K10: ZERO Star Safety Rating in the Latin NCAP - Team-BHP Tata Motors has been a pioneer in promoting safety and security in the auto sector. Here's a demonstration : With the advent of several global players, the future of Nano is gonna be challenging. The marketing strategy of the Nano has been altered and there is a visible uptrend in the sales figures. As per future technical developments, I can't reveal much since I'm bound by the IPR agreement :P but there are several new developments taking place which are going to take the market by surprise.

Buying Cars: Which are the best options to buy a car with a budget of 3.50 lakhs to 4 lakhs?

Hi! Your budget speaks for entry level cars. So here are your options: Renault Kwid: Small car but loads of space. Good Mileage. A lot more stylish than any other entry level car. Also, has touch screen infotainment which is segment first. Cons: Renault's modest no. Of service centres Maruti Suzuki Alto K10: Great car to have in the city. Fuel Efficient and has no worry of service due to its badge Cons: Poor Space . Low quality interiors. Feels cheap on the inside. Tata Zica: Soon to hit the market. Has great interiors. Good quality car in terms of fit and finish. More bang for buck than competition. Good expected mileage. Worth waiting till Feb 16. Cons: Tata Badge. Datsun go is also a good practical car,but very unsafe as per NCAP crash tests. FIAT's Punto pure released days ago may fall in your budget, but is purely an enthusiasts car. Hit or miss. But safe to the core car. My preference of the lot would be Renault Kwid>Tata Zica>Maruti Alto.
