Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has launched the facelifted W167 2023 Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 4Matic+ Coupe, priced at RM 873,888 (OTR without insurance) and comes fully imported (CBU).

As before, the engine comes in the form of a 3.0-litre in-line 6 turbocharged engine with an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) and a 48V system. Total output stands at 435 PS and 560 Nm, which is 40 Nm more than before, courtesy of a larger turbocharger and software update.

The AMG Speedshift TCT 9-speed automatic transmission sends power to all corners via the fully variable 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system. 0-100 km/h sprint is completed in 5.0 seconds. It rides on Airmatic suspension with AMG Active Ride Contol roll stabilisation.

Exterior wise, it gets revised headlamps which are Multibeam LED units for better visibility. The front has a redesigned bumper with distinctive air intakes, and a new AMG emblem on the bonnet. The rear features updated LED tail lights, a two-pipe exhaust system, and an AMG spoiler.

Being an AMG model, it wears the AMG Panamericana grille and 22-inch AMG wheels. Buyer can opt for the AMG Night Package, which highlights all the trim in gloss black.

Brakes are 400 mm discs at the front, gripped by 2-piston calipers, while the rear discs are 345 mm in diameter with single-piston caliper.

Inside, notable items include angular air vents with chrome accents, AMG Nappa leather upholstery, carbon-fibre trim, and AMG steering wheel.

Other features include head-up display, Burmester 3D Surround Sound System, Thermotronic 4-zone automatic climate control, and a temperature-controlled cup holder in the centre console.

Taking centre stage are two 12.3-inch digital displays that runs on the latest MBUX (NTG7). The MBUX Interior Assistant recognizes hand and arm movements, allowing instant activation of functions. There’s also the MBUX Augmented Reality Navigation, which blends the virtual and real worlds to assist drivers in complex traffic situations.

On the safety front, the GLE 53 comes with the Driving Assistant Package Plus, which comprises of Active Distance Assist Distronic, Extended Automatic Re-start in Traffic Jams, Active Parking Assist with Parktronic, Active Steering Assist, and Pre-Safe system.
