The G22-generation 2024 BMW 4 Series facelift has just made its debut, introducing enhancements in cabin technology, design tweaks, and new features. As before, the refreshed 4 Series is offered in coupe or convertible variants.

While the massive vertical kidney grilles remain an eye-catcher, a closer inspection reveals changes in the front bumper, where the lower air intakes are subtly redesigned, plus revised headlight graphics. Laserlight rear units are now offered as an option.

The 4 Series, when equipped with the M Sport package, flaunts a new rear diffuser element and larger 100 mm exhaust tips. Meanwhile, the flagship M440i retains its trapezoidal exhaust tips, now standard in black to complement the front grille surrounds.

There are optional M Sport Pro and M Carbon exterior packages, providing darkened exterior trim, headlight optics, and carbon fiber accents. The 4 Series introduces new 19-inch wheels available in black or with a two-tone finish.

Performance in the top-tier M440i xDrive, equipped with a 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six, headlines with 374 PS and 500 Nm. This enables a 4.5-second 0-100 km/h time.

The 420i and 430i, featuring a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged engine, generate 184 PS/300 Nm and 245 PS/400 Nm respectively. All variants get an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard and incorporate 48V mild-hybrid technology for enhanced efficiency and a slight improvement in responsiveness.

Inside, there’s a redesigned three-spoke M steering wheel and the curved display runs on BMW’s latest OS 8.5 infotainment system. The CraftedClarity glass starter button is available as an option, along with the iDrive controller and gear selector, as seen in the BMW iX.

Standard sports seats in the coupe are upholstered in sustainable M Performtex material, while the convertible comes with Vernasca leather as standard.

The European market has opened order books for the new BMW 4-series, with initial deliveries expected in the spring.
