Hot off the press is the G82-generation 2024 BMW M4 facelift with various enhancements, particularly on performance and subtle visual tweaks.

Starting the former, the S58 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged straight-six engine in Competition form now produces 530 PS, a 20 PS increase from the previous 510 PS. The peak power is now achieved at 6250rpm, compared to the previous 5600rpm.

While the torque remains unchanged at 650 Nm, it is sustained for an additional 230rpm, peaking between 2750rpm and 5730rpm.

Rear-wheel drive option has been eliminated from the M4 lineup, leaving the all-wheel-drive xDrive version as the sole option. This xDrive variant can transfer torque exclusively to the rear wheels when stability control is disabled.

An 8-speed automatic transmission is fitted as standard, with the 6-speed manual transmission available as an option (in selected markets).

Despite the power boost, the on-paper performance figures for the new M4 remain the same, with BMW stating 0-100 km/h times of 3.5 seconds for the coupe and 3.7 seconds for the convertible.

Visually, the redesigned headlights of the new BMW M4 feature a more distinctive LED signature. Standard LED headlights include both low and high beams from the same module, with vertical LED units serving as position lights and indicators.

Optional adaptive LED headlights with anti-glare matrix high beam offer additional features like urban light and cornering light functions. The LED taillights incorporates laser technology, which was seen on the limited-run M4 CSL. The BMW and M logos at the rear boast new accents, while optional M design graphics and a special steel roof add customisation options.

Inside, the facelifted M4 retains the dual-widescreen infotainment and instrumentation displays, measuring 14.9 inches and 12.3 inches on a curved panel, running on the latest BMW OS 8.5, offering enhanced voice controls for climate functions.

Ambient lighting has been extended to the area above the central air vents. Offering nine colour options, it extends to footwells, storage compartments, and door openers. Interior lighting features customisable scenarios like Welcome and Goodbye, as well as indicators for open doors and incoming calls.

The standard BMW Live Cockpit Professional includes BMW Maps, a Head-up Display projecting M-specific driving information, and connectivity options like USB-C ports, smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Wireless charging for compatible Smartphones, along with a 10-speaker hi-fi loudspeaker system and a 250-watt power amplifier, are also part of the standard equipment for the new 2024 BMW M4.
