It has been a few years since Hyundai has been absent from the D-segment sedan market. But come 30 October, the 2020 Hyundai Sonata will make its return to Malaysia. The launch will also mark the sedan's right-hand-drive global debut.

Yes, Malaysia will be the first market Hyundai is introducing a right-hand-drive version of the eight generation Hyundai Sonata.

Hyundai Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) first started hinting the pending arrival of the Sonata amidst the Hyundai Kona B-segment SUV teasers.

The Sonata quickly became a hot-topic amongst Malaysians, especially since internationally, Hyundai was gearing up to introduce a new N-Line equipment package to the Sonata.

There is no word yet on whether HSDM will be offering the N-Line equipment here, but we won’t rule it out entirely since HSDM does have the Hyundai i30N on sale here in Malaysia.

Due to the government’s reinstatement of the Conditional Movement Control Order in Selangor, KL, and Putrajaya, the launch of the Sonata and the Kona will be held online and you are welcome to watch the launch at Hyundai Malaysia’s official Facebook page on Friday 30th October 2020 at 3pm.
