Mark your calendars as Hyundai Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) has just confirmed that the all-new 2020 Hyundai Kona and all-new 2020 Hyundai Sonata will both be launched on 30 October 2020!

The launch will be held on Hyundai Malaysia’s official Facebook page at 3 pm. HDSM made the announcement via a sleek video teaser, inviting fans to witness the official launch of the Kona and Sonata at the same time.

The Hyundai Kona is not the only B-segment SUV that will be launching the following week, the highly anticipated Proton X50, the Kona’s biggest rival in the segment, is scheduled to make its debut on 27 October 2020.

To recap, the Hyundai Kona will come to Malaysia with 3 variants to offer and 2 engine options.

A 2.0-litre naturally aspirated engine (150 PS/ 180 Nm) will power the base Kona 2.0 Standard and the Kona 2.0 Mid while a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine (177 PS/ 265 Nm) will power the range-topping 1.6 T-GDI High.

Prices for the B-segment SUV is expected to start around RM 115,000.

The Hyundai Sonata will make its return to Malaysia after an absence in the D-segment sedan market. The car will go head-to-head with rivals like the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry.

Powering the Sonata will be a 2.5-litre Smartstream G2.5 MPI naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 180 PS and 232 Nm.
