The long-wheelbase 2021 Audi A7L has made its global debut in Auto Shanghai 2021. The Audi A7L will be made by SAIC-Volkswagen and complements the FAW-Volkswagen-made Audi A7.

The Audi A7L measures 5,076 mm long (+100 mm) with a wheelbase measuring at 3,026 mm (+98 mm). It’s shorter than the Audi A8 in terms of overall length, but the A7L’s wheelbase is a tad longer (SWB Audi A8’s wheelbase measures 2,998 mm).

The interior appears to be largely identical to the standard wheelbase model, save for the obvious increase in rear legroom.

Seen here is the First Edition Audi A7L, it’s powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 engine that makes 340 PS and 500 Nm of torque. The mill gets assistance from a 48V mild hybrid system. A 7-speed dual-clutch transmission sends power to all four wheels.

Speaking of four wheels, the Audi A7L gets four-wheel steering for better manoeuvrability around town and stability at high speeds. It also gets air suspension as standard.

The Audi A7L is said to be reserved for the Chinese market and will go into production later this year in 2021, with deliveries commencing in 2022.
