Following the announcement that bookings for the Hyundai Ioniq 5 are open in Malaysia, its preliminary specs have been shared with us by Hyundai dealers.
As mentioned in the earlier report, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 will be available with battery pack options of either 58 kWh or 72.6 kWh across three variants – Base, High, and Premium.

The Base and High variants get the smaller 58-kWh battery capacity with a single motor (170 PS/350 Nm) powering the rear wheels (RWD). 0-100 km/h sprint time is claimed at 8.5 seconds while WLTP range is rated at 384 km.

Meanwhile, the Premium variant gets the larger 72.6-kWh battery paired to dual motors (305 PS/605 Nm) that power all four wheels (AWD). 0-100 km/h takes 5.2 seconds and has a maximum driving range of 430 km according to the WLTP cycle. All variants have their top speed capped at 185 km/h.
The Ioniq 5 has a CCS Combo 2 charging port and a maximum AC charging rate of 11 kW. As for DC fast charging, its maximum rate is not stated but Hyundai says a 350-kW charger allows the battery to go from 10% to 80% in 18 minutes.
In terms of equipment, the Base and High variants get 19-inch wheels while the Premium gets 20-inch wheels. Exclusive to the Premium variant is the solar panel, which is said to add up to 2,000 km of range per year in sunny locations.

Inside, the Premium variant gets Bose sound system, while lower rung variants get a 6-speaker system. Seats are upholstered by fabric in the Base variant and leather for the upper-rung variants. Also reserved for the upper-rung variants is the 360-degree camera.
