The 2023 BMW M2 (G87) is set to make its Malaysian debut, as registration of interest (ROI) for the rear-wheel drive (RWD) coupe is open on BMW Malaysia’s website.
Revealed globally in October last year, the 2023 BMW M2 sticks to the classic two-door RWD coupe formula for the enthusiasts. Its S58 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six engine makes 460 PS/550 Nm, paired with either an 8-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission.

Drive is sent exclusively to the rear wheels, with an Active M Differential as standard. 0-100 km/h sprint is done in 4.1 seconds for the automatic and 4.3 seconds for the manual.
On the outside, the visual additions to the M2 over the 2022 BMW 2 Series show a redesign of the front bumper with squared-off kidney grilles, and its headlamp design is unique to the M2.
The rear bumper features elongated sections at both sides, flanking a central diffuser with quad tailpipe finishers in the centre.
Wheels are 19-inch (with 275/35 R19 tyres) items at the front, 20-inch (with 285/30 R20 tyres) at the rear. Within those wheels are 380 mm brake rotors with 6-piston callipers at the front, 370 mm rotors with single-piston floating callipers at the rear.
BMW boasts a 50:50 weight distribution and excellent longitudinal and torsional stiffness helped by M-specific bracing. Adaptive M suspension with electronically controlled dampers and M Servotronic steering with variable ratio are standard.
Inside, the BMW iDrive runs on the current BMW Operating System 8. There’s a curved screen with dual-widescreen display measuring 12.3-inch for the instrument cluster and 14.9-inch for the infotainment display. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity is available.
Standard equipment also includes three-zone automatic climate control, BMW Live Cockpit Plus with BMW Maps navigation system, ambient lighting and Hi-Fi speaker system. Glass slide/tilt sunroof and Harman Kardon Surround Sound System are available in the options list.
The G87 BMW M2 goes on sale in international markets starting from April 2023.
