Without the second- and third-row seats in place (remember that this is a commercial van), the Alza’s cabin space would then be rather cavernous. Perodua only mentioned that boot space is 83 litres with the third-row seats up, but did not mention its capacity with the second- and third-row folded down.
That said, judging how some ingenious owners managed to run a pasar malam stall out of an Alza, we reckon that actual space isn’t a concern at all.
As a potential panel van, the Alza has one more trick up its sleeve – its 4-speed automatic transmission. The most expensive option here, the Nissan NV200, is only available with a manual transmission, while the GranMax is available with both transmissions.
Then there’s the Alza price point. Seeing that the Alza was priced between RM 51,490 to RM 62,690, it comfortably undercuts brand-new panel vans like the Daihatsu GranMax (~RM 70k) and Nissan NV200 (~RM 80k). The latter two are a bit too pricey for small traders.
