Owner Review: Bought it because of RV, not because it's a Civic- My 2013 Honda Civic FB 01

Basic information of my car:

2013 honda civic fb 2.0s

window.googletag = window.googletag || {cmd: []}; googletag.cmd = googletag.cmd || []; googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.defineSlot('/22557728108/my_article_fourthp_under_pc', [ 728, 90 ], 'div-gpt-ad-1685525140735-0').addService(googletag.pubads()); googletag.pubads().enableSingleRequest(); googletag.pubads().collapseEmptyDivs(); googletag.enableServices(); });
googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1685525140735-0'); });

Reasons why I bought this car

Was eyeing on for a C-segment sedan on that moment. Everyday car point A to point B car

Car selection process

  • I had a budget of: RM+-100,000
  • Models that I have considered include: toyota altis, Mazda 3
  • Reasons why I chose this car: Toyota looks a bit uncle on that time Civic spec wise looks good, with VSC,4 airbags and very minimalist interier and good driving position and viewing angle compare to altis. Mazda 3 resale value is terrible, so out of the game

User experience

  • I have already done 128000 km.
  • My average fuel consumption is 9.8 L/100km.

Overall it's a good car, refined yet a bit sporty. the 2.0 sohc feels abit struggle during high speed, but daily city driving, it's awesome. original PS3 tyres is good but the nvh of the car not so good, a bit noisy, chance few model include Primacy 3ST, Silverstone and Good Year ATM2, by far, end up the ATM2 is suprisingly more silent than 3ST, but less grip NVH of the car is not a strong point, there's wind noise comes out from a piller above 90kmh. Body rigidity also not so good, car feels floating above 130-140, after installed ultra racing bar (front back), feels lots better, 150 is ok.

The aftersales service i would say, nothing to complaint. here's few point 1. There's some wierd wrak wrak noise when go though bumper 1st year, they fix it 2. The original door handle (interior) is kinda fur fur texture when touch, but that turn sticky after 2 years, Honda change a hard case model for free. 3. 3rd years tension belt problem, they change it FOC 4. 5th years rear suspension oil leak, SC change new pair FOC 1 things that will break is the intake hose, many ppl didn't realise, i change mine 2 times. until today, the car is 8ys, still my daily car to drive, (touch wood) i didnt spend a cents on fixing anything except those wear and tear parts like battery, break pads. although it's less power now, perhaps due to carbon stuck in the engine, but as you did your servicing on time, just like me. You are worry free. Oh last thing, i think honda original paints not so good quality, i can see fading paint now.

Pros of my car:

  • good FC for a 2.0 car
  • worry free ownership
  • aircon never service, until now still working perfectly (change filter every year)
  • interior leather seat all still look good after 8 years
  • Paddle shift that i use everyday
  • good Resale value

Cons

  • road noise
  • car rigidity

Ratings:

Total Score: 4

Performance: 5

Quality & Features: 4

Space: 5

Ride Comfort: 3

Fuel Economy: 4

Price & Cost: 5

Summary :

we malaysian when buying a car, we look at many factor. Price, CC (road tax), safety package, car feature and most important thing is Resale value, a lot of ppl denied, but lets face the true. A good C segment match the above criterier only Altis and Civic (lancer was out, mazda 3 no RV, Proton quality without Geely is disaster), so basicly not much option.

Event :

was an uber driver for few days (for fun) praise from rider that the rear seat and space is comfy, although myself never seat on rear at all it's a fun car to drive
