Mazda CX-30 to be launched in Malaysia in November 2019

Bermaz Auto, the distributor of Mazda vehicles in Malaysia is expected to add the C-segment CX-30 into its model line-up this November.

Positioned between the CX-3 and CX-5, the CX-30 is a closer rival to the dominating Honda HR-V, which the Mazda 2-based CX-3 couldn’t match because it was just a little bit too small.

IAA 2019: The Frankfurt Motor Show highlights

The biennial International Automotive Exhibition used to be the world's most important trade fair for mobility, transport and logistics. This year however, fewer manufactures with small stalls are presented at the show, while 30+ exhibitors cancelled their stands altogether.

BMW Malaysia introduces CKD 330i M Sport, priced from RM 288,800

BMW Malaysia today unveiled the new BMW 330i M Sport, the latest addition to the premium automaker’s locally-assembled portfolio. Assembled in Kulim, the 330i M Sport now retails for RM 288,800, a RM 40,000 reduction when compared to the imported model.

Mazda CX-8 set for October debut in Malaysia

Apart from the refreshed Mazda CX-5 line-up, Bermaz Motor is also expected to introduce the CX-8 some time in October.

Positioned between the CX-5 and CX-9, the CX-8 is essentially a smaller version of the CX-9, developed for the Japanese market, where vehicles are taxed based on the body size.

New 2019 Isuzu D-Max launched in Malaysia, new 150 PS 1.9L turbodiesel

Isuzu Malaysia has just introduced the updated 2019 D-Max, now available with the new 1.9-litre Ddi BluePower turbodiesel engine.

The new smaller capacity 1.9-litre engine replaces the older 2.5-litre engine. Although smaller, it makes 14 PS more power (150 PS) and 30 Nm more torque (350 Nm). The larger 3.0-litre engine remains available.

Proton drivers take it to the limit

The Proton 1 Tank Adventure kicked off with the opening preliminary round taking place over the Malaysia Day weekend. A total of 60 participants in 30 cars, comprising of the 2019 Proton Iriz, Persona and Saga set off on an epic adventure that covered a total driving distance of 650km that took them from Proton’s Centre Of Excellence (COE) to Johor Bahru and back again.

The best results achieved, verified by scrutineers from the Malaysia Speed Festival (MSF) are 4.98L/100km for the Proton Saga, 5.43L/100km for the Proton Persona and an event best 4.94L/100km for the Proton Iriz.

Honda CR-V facelift revealed in U.S. without much changes

Honda has presented its refreshed Honda CR-V for the U.S. market, complete with refreshed styling, new features and hybrid powertrain for the local market.

Exterior changes are minor, include a bolder front bumper, restyled rear bumper garnish and new alloy wheel design that now measures 19-inch in diameter. The CR-V hybrid gets an additional “Hybrid” moniker to set it apart.

MYPerodua Nation postponed until further notice due to haze

As a People First organisation, Perodua has decided to postpone the MYPerodua Nation carnival until further notice, in light of the worsening haze situation nationwide.

The carnival was supposed to take place this weekend, from 20-22 September at the Setia City Oval Lawn in Setia Alam.

New 2019 Perodua Axia launched in Malaysia, priced from RM 24,090

Perodua has just launched the new 2019 Perodua Axia in Malaysia. Visually, all variants of the new Axia get a updated front end with a redesigned front grille and revised front bumper. Compared to the outgoing model, the new front grille features one less chrome strip than before, while the front fog light surrounds are more triangular in shape.

As for the aptly named Axia Style, this ‘micro-SUV-style’ variant of the Axia gets a significantly different exterior design.

 All-New Toyota Corolla Altis previewed in PJ showroom ahead of its launch

The all-new Toyota Corolla Altis won't be launched until October but that didn't stop UMW Toyota Motor's outlet in Petaling Jaya from putting the car on display.

The list of features for the all-new Toyota Corolla Altis is plenty, more than enough to match what's offered by arch-rival Honda Civic.

Its name is not Supra, but Toyota GR Supra – What GR means for TRD?

The latest A90 generation Supra isn’t called the Toyota Supra but Toyota GR Supra. It seems that every few generations, the Supra nameplate will undergone some changes. What started as the Toyota Celica Supra before becoming Toyota Supra, is now known as the Toyota GR Supra.

To be specific, when someone refers to the Supra, it should only mean one of the three earlier generation models: the A60, A70, or A80.
