porsche 911 meme Q&A Review

What will you choose between a Porsche 911 and a Ford Mustang? Why?

Weird question. They are both 2+2 coupes, but they come from very different backgrounds and approach the concept in very different ways. Generally, I would not think they would be cross shopped. Here a new Mustang is, at most, $75,000, and starts at $25,000. A new 911 starts at $97,000 and runs into $250,000 depending on options. So price is the number one reason to chose a Mustang over a 911. Assuming price is not a concern, then it comes down to experience. The Mustang is at its heart a muscle car. Handling, ride quality and seating have improved over the years, but the core concept is a big V8 engine in a relatively small package. Expect the interior of a $25,000 car. And that cost will have been a main concern in its development. The 911 is at its heart a 2.0 liter sports car from the 60’s. Handling and ride quality have always been first and foremost, with horsepower and cost being secondary. Each has a different emotion experience, from both the driver and the observer. People will think “oohhh, he spent a lot of money” about the Porsche owner, even if it is a 996 model. The Mustang owner will be more “high school car’ thoughts. An example of this are all the Cars and Coffee memes about the Mustang. Even with a Shelby GT 350, there is still a strong muscle car, 60’s American feel to a Mustang.

Which is better for gaming: Windows 7 or Windows 8?

Windows 7, without a doubt. I don’t fucking care about the end of support. I only care about the fact that my (parent’s) medium-end home Windows 7 ULTIMATE notebook’s price is of R$ 1.500. Hard-earned money. And a low-end CCE Windows 8 ,LAPTOP, (No DVD driver, no HDMI slot, etc) only costed these same R$ 1.500 because of a lighting offer. Wasn’t for it, it would cost R$ 2.000. And I will tell what I prefer with a “short” story. Remember Windows XP, and when Microsoft released the Vista? Well, it was so tedious. And slow, even on the same hardware. For example, 5-year old me (I was and am a tech-savy) owned a old CCE desktop. Gifted from my dad. It was so good, that the Windows 8 “snail” CCE laptop felt like a betrayal to me. It was my old-school CCE computer. But I don’t remember if the red details on the monitor were there. Also, the stickers on it said it used Intel Celeron. But, returning to what matters, that old CCE desktop that I got on 2009 (I remember that day well) used this operational system, or OS. The legendary… ,Linux,. The one that became a 2010 meme. My dad, then, upgraded my PC from this… Out of the frying pan… To this: …,and into the fire. Linux was kinda… decent. My dad told me that I used Linux, but I remember kinda clearly that I used this: Mainly because of the start menu, and the interface. But, back to Vista. It was kinda… horrible. I tried running my dad’s NFS Undercover disk. He sometimes letted me play that game on his notebook with the glorious Windows 7. The computer I’m typing this answer The game was: some women there, cool cars there, PS2 nostalgia on that Porsche 911 GT2. After some cutscene, the game installed, and… It was slower! Slower enough to ruin the gameplay! I wanted to downgrade to (in my head, I thought Linux was) Windows XP! That was what I felt when said Windows 7 notebook broke. It was dad’s fault to put the notebook on the arm-supporting part of the couch. The instant aftermath? Some part of the removable battery broke. Removable notebook battery So, we bought this: Top 10 anime betrayals. The “Start” is in Brazilian Portuguese because, it’s a brazilian enterprise! And that CCE laptop was slow as hell. I got the disk to NFS Undercover… just to note that it lacks a disc drive. Seriously, even a floppy disk drive would be useful. And we did not knew where to buy external DVD drivers. And the USB slot was jammed. But I played NFS World on the Windows 7, so let’s test it because it’s a digital and free game! Aftermath: Kinda decen. Not as good as the Windows 7, but it’s good. It was cold on both senses: My dad was a human bed sheet (hot, like the sun), while that PC was a metal, cold thing. But it also was cold turkey to force me to upgrade to Windows 8.1, turning NFS World into a even horribly slow version of Vista’s NFS Undercover. Undercover has issues in older PCs, NFS World has issues with recent computers. But the Windows 8.1’s charger failed to feed the energy, thus failing to charge the laptop. Aftermath: the charger slot (the one on the laptop) was in fault. That PC was on its last hours of living. But my soccer-fanatic cousin wanted to watch the Brazil vs Germany game from the 2014 World Cup. On Live. I putted the game to him, but he kinda raged at the end of the game, when Brazil losed, He accidentally slammed the laptop on rage. After verbally fighting him, with the old “it’s just a game”, he counter-attacked with “A GAME THAT ONLY HAPPENS EACH FOUR YEARS!”, to which I replied “Four years that you will spend paying for the laptop’s fix.” To which my dad and mom, overhearing the discussion, just pardoned him, because the Windows 7 PC was back in action. But the aftermath from the Windows 7 PC being fixed: 1: The removable battery is now addicted, so it must always stay in the charger. 2: The integrated keyboard jammed, requiring me to use a external keyboard. 3: Pieces of the integrated keyboard (letters got broken during the couch fall. Yes, it had falled off a couch. But it still works fine. I managed to avoid Windows 10, without disabling security updates. But, what matters is, ,Windows 7 is the best.

How did people react when Nissan launched the Skyline R34?

Mostly with oohs and aahs for the latest in a long line of GT-Rs that nobody outside Japan (and the UK) could officially buy, and polite indifference about the rest of the range that was similarly unattainable yet nowhere near as desirable. Also a million Clarkson-esque quips about its being able to drive itself, in the years before Jeremy Clarkson became a living meme. Oh, and it re-sparked a million nerdfights online over how quick the GT-R really was around a racetrack compared to the oh-so-precious Porsche 911. (from Top Gear) But the widespread popularity of the car with casual enthusiasts didn’t really take off until everyone and his brother had a chance to race, tune and modify one in the gorgeously photo-realistic (for the time) ,Gran Turismo 3 -A-Spec, (yes, I know it was in GT2, don’t quibble) and got to see it on the big screen in ,2Fast2Furious. ,Then it was everywhere. And everyone knew what it was. All of the sudden, those iconic four round tail-lamps officially became a thing. And Bayside Blue became a most-requested-color on repaints. This uptick in interested started yet another round of online nerdfights over Nurburgring laps and limiters and dynos and etcetera. Which, at this point, is a depressingly recurrent cycle of idiocy every time a new R35 update comes out. Only nowadays, the R35 doesn’t have to appear in any horrible movies to get the gearheads talking.

Can you write 100 things about yourself?

Here we go. I'm 15 year old. I'm at the end of 10th grade while (re)writing this. I'm an Indian. I'm a Bengali as well. I'm a heterosexual male. My favorite series of books are Animorphs, Secret Seven and Famous Five (I would've liked to include Tom Clancy's Ryanverse too, but it isn't technically a series of books in the sense we usually mean it). My favorite poems are “The Charge Of The Light Brigade” by Alfred Tennyson, “The Solitary Reaper” and “A Slumber Did My Spirit Seal” by William Wordsworth, “The Lake Isle of Innisfree” by W. B. Yeats, “The Cane Bottom'd Chair” by William Makepeace Thackeray, “Ozymandias” by P. B. Shelley, etc. (pretty sure I'm forgetting quite a few). My favorite artists change all the time. But the two static bands are Slipknot and Linkin Park. Before late April of 2019, I'd never listened to a rock (except “Hotel California”). Thanks to one particular mad lad (,User-10576767929283211818,) for introducing me to punk rock and metal. I know three Quorans in real life. I'd originally joined Quora on December 5, 2018, but deleted that account on April 29, 2019. due to a series of mishaps (a long and ,kind of ,thrilling story). I'd rejoined it on July 13, 2019. I have a rather annoying, yet lovable and adorable ringneck parakeet as pet. Her demands are to feed her and tickle and throughout the day. I love mathematics and physics. I also like studying history. Mostly for the time period of 1789 - 1945. I prefer tea as a beverage. Especially green tea. I'm an introvert. I'm right - handed. I have some anger issues. I am somewhat egocentric. Though I always try not to let that hurt my friendships. On any given day, I have atleast 20 enemies whom I'd prefer seeing dead. (Refer to point 18 and the fact that some people tend to behave bad unnecessarily.) One of my bad habits is to peel off skin from my lower lip. It sometimes even causes bleeding, but it's a bad habit which is hard to get rid of. I hate the taste of blood. I can sing. Not really good, but I can. I don't worship Ethan James (no mentioning here. I don't want to increase his burden of notifications), but I believe that he's pretty good. I'm pro - LGBTQ+. I have a lot of enemies within my family too. One is, as a matter of fact, too close for comfort. Geography is my least favorite subject. But I don't quite “hate” it either. My favorite novels are “Once Upon a Monsoon Time” by Ruskin Bond, “The Hunt For Red October” and “The Cardinal of Kremlin” by Tom Clancy, “All Quiet On The Western Front” by Erich Maria Remarque and “The Negotiator" by Frederick Forsyth. My favorite movies are “Saving Private Ryan”, “Lawrence of Arabia”, “It”, “The ODESSA File”, “The Bridge On The River Kwai”, “Commando”, “Face/Off”, “The Last Samurai”, “The Good, The Bad And The Ugly”, Star Wars saga, Mission: Impossible series and Final Destination series. I like mountains. I'm an agnostic theist. I believe in taking revenge and paying back for helps. Not exactly the peacemaker type. Thrash metal is my favorite genre of music. I'm not the greatest fan of statistics, but it's bearable. Same goes for geometry. Only I like it more than statistics. I'm ToTaLlY nOt EdGy. Just kidding. I'm not. Or am I? Hmm… Before listening to rocks and metals, ,ghazali, was my favorite genre of music. My favorite colors are cerulean blue and black. I love my parents. I know three languages: English, Bengali and Hindi. I like football and badminton. I'm not a good writer. Not that I can't write at all; I'm just not good. I'm a grammar Nazi. I even get mad at myself when I make grammatical mistakes. My favorite food item is stingray (the non - poisonous part, of course). I don't like K - Pop. I don't like the genre of pop in general. Though I do make an exception for Imagine Dragons. Death scares me to death. I'm arachnophobic. Heck. I'm scared of any large insect. I'm also trypophobic. Some of my most favorite songs from Slipknot are:- Wait And Bleed, Sic, People = Shit, My Plague, The Heretic Anthem, Custer, Liar, Birth Of The Cruel, Killpop, The Devil In I, Psychosocial, Duality, Before I Forget, Duality, Sulfur, Vermilion (Pt. 1 and 2), XIX, Snuff, Unsainted and All Out Life. My favorite songs from Metallica are:- Wherever I May Roam, Nothing Else Matters, The God That Failed, Mama Said, Seek And Destroy, Master Of Puppets, One, Enter Sandman, The Unforgiven Trilogy, Whiskey In The Jar, Atlas, Rise!, For Whom The Bell Tolls, Fade To Black, Battery, Hardwired, Here Comes Revenge, … And Justice For All and The Memory Remains. For Anti - Flag, my favorites are: American Attraction, Digital Blackout, This Is The End, Brandenburg Gate, The Debate Is Over, 911 For Peace, Fabled World, Racists, The Sky Is Falling, Finish What We Started, Welcome To 1984 and The Press Corpse. For Linkin Park: Breaking The Habit, Papercut, With You, Runaway, Somewhere I Belong, A Place For My Head, In The End, Faint and Pushing Me Away. For System Of A Down: Aerials, Toxicity, Prison Song, IEAIAIO, Chop Suey, A. T. W. A., Mr. Jack, B. Y. O. B., Hypnotize, Soldier Side, Lost In Hollywood and Lonely Day. For Eagles: Hotel California and Take It Easy. Iron Maiden: Fear Of The Dark and The Trooper. My favorite vocalists are James Hetfield, Chester Bennington, Corey Taylor, Bryan Adams, John Denver, Lionel Richie Serj Tankian, Daron Malakian, Bob Dylan and Justin Sane. I'm a major procrastinator I want to visit Pointe du Hoc. While talking, I sometimes make jokes using lines from songs I've heard. I hate darkness (unless I feel sleepy, or the dark thing is my phone's screen.) I can tolerate high doses of pungent food. After changing my writing style altogether, I'm cringing at this answer while editing it (March 11, 2020). My favorite numbers are 2 and 5. They're the best denominators. I like memes (didn't like them till recent). I remember the squares of all whole numbers between 0 and 41. I'm against Flat Earth Society and anti - vaxxers. Heck, any sane person is against them. 69 and 420 are not my favorite numbers. I don't even understand the point of prioritizing these two. I've participated in SOF's NSO. My highest zonal ranking in NSO was 18th. Not the best achievement though. I've never been to a party. I hate both T - Series and PewDiePie. Absolutely pointless and low - quality content for most parts. TED - Ed, Khan Academy and Cyanide & Happiness are my favorite YouTube channels. 90% of my classmates are enemies. I also used to make origami models. But, I didn't get the time to make anything for nearly a year now. I'll be appearing for the Board Exam in 2020 (edited on March 11, 2020: whew. Almost done). My current type of handwriting (cursive) has been there since 4th grade. I started speaking in English in 3rd grade. Before that, I couldn't speak in English well enough for having conversations. I want to be either an astrophysicist or a professor of mathematics. Or a theoretical physicist. I've never changed school. I've been studying in my current school for 13 years now. I'd memorized the sequence of the elements in order of their atomic numbers. But I tend to forget it for the lanthanides and actinides. Chemistry is my third favorite subject, followed by maths and physics. My favorite quote: “Death is nothing, but to live defeated and inglorious is to die daily” by Napoleon Bonaparte. When alone, I swear a lot. I have invented an alias for myself: Suburban Ghost, 1st Baron Ghost. Shortened to “Baron Ghost I”. I like chocolates. Biriyani is another food item that I love. My favorite vehicles are Subaru Impreza WRX STI and Porsche 911 Carrera. My favorite cartoons are (were) “Oggy And The Cockroaches”, “Doraemon” and “Zig and Sharko.” I'm ,slightly, more mature than most people of my age whom I know in real life. Humble bragging, but it's true. I play Call of Duty Mobile. I've honestly run out of points to write about myself. Ah. Finally got something. I like cold food more than hot food. Heat… it ain't something my taste buds prefer. I'm one of the earliest members of Quoratopia. As of now, I'm an administrator of HOQ. I had been a participant in a 15 - day long war (known among us as the “Great Troll War”), which ended up in a stalemate (more - or - less). I can ride a bike. (Nearly there!) My interest in physics and chemistry developed by 9th grade, and maths at the end of 9th grade, when I joined Quora. Despite of making the firm decision of not dating before college, I do have a girlfriend. Well, I'm still not going to date. :D (,“Here we go for the 100th time!” ― Mike Shinoda, Bleed It Out,) I'm really glad that I could actually finish it.

When people claim their Epiphone guitars are as good or better than the Gibson versions of the same guitars, do you believe them?

No, absolutely not! This would be the same as believing the guy that says his Volkswagen Golf is just as good as a Porsche 911. Cheaper things are generally not just as good or better as more expensive things (although this can be case on rare occasions), this would violate the basic principles of a market economy, which assumes goods are traded at prices that reflect their utility. But enough economics! What about the guitars? There is no end of commentary and opinion on the internet that claims “guitar brand X is better than Gibson” (and it is always Gibson, very rarely Fender), and the “my Epiphone is better than all the Gibsons in my local guitar shop that I tried” is somewhat of a meme at this point, as it is uttered so frequently across guitar forums and YouTube videos. Recently people have started doing the same with the ultra cheap brands being offered (Harley Benton in particular has a ferociously devoted fanbase) and it is common to find people claiming that even guitars that sell for less than $200 are better than the $2,000 Gibsons… If this all was true, Gibson would be in a lot of trouble for sure! Who would pay $2,000 for a guitar that can’t even rival the quality of a $200 guitar? ,Anybody who buys a Gibson sure is a real sucker! Or are they? I don’t think so for one second! Given that Gibson is 1 of the 2 undisputed top guitar brands in the world and has been so for the last 100+ years uninterrupted speaks for itself. So claiming that anybody who buys a Gibson is a sucker would be same as claiming that a very large portion of the guitar buying public are and has always been suckers that can’t tell a good guitar from a bad one even when the differences are obvious. Again, if this was true we as guitarists would have to take a very serious look at ourselves and most likely have to come to the conclusion that we aren’t fit to make any sort of financial decisions ever again! I don’t know about you, but I don’t buy the above for one second! What is the reason then? If I had to guess I would say jealousy, this is the simplest explanation and therefore most likely the correct one. Quite simply put, people who can’t afford a Gibson or who don’t want to make that sort of investment are going to have a bone to pick with anybody who can since they know, at some level, that they either aren’t as well off or aren’t as committed to their hobby. Both of these truths would sting to admit to themselves. Therefore it is only natural to want the opposite to be true, so saying to themselves and others that they are in fact the smart ones, as they “didn’t fall for the scam”, is a much easier way out than admitting to the above. To go back to the car example, this is similar to people who grumble and gripe about others that own sports (or fancy) cars, asserting that “they don’t need a sports car, because they aren’t compensating for something!”. Again, they are just trying to sell themselves on the idea that they are in fact smart ,for NOT having a sports car,, and that this is a rational decision that they have taken. When in fact probably these people would like to have one but can’t afford it. So this means there is scientific proof Gibsons are better right? Probably not and there probably won’t be either. Gibsons and Epiphones are just two different things and they cannot really be compared. Gibsons are high end luxury items that are not only great playing instruments but also displays of serious commitment (and or wealth). Epiphones on the other hand are just student or intermediate level instruments that are meant to take you a certain distance along your guitar playing path, nothing more and nothing less. ,A Gibson is an heirloom, an Epiphone is a tool. And I have to come clean, I own a Gibson SG and this is the best guitar I have ever had, full stop, period.
