2021 Nissan Magnite quietly launched in Indonesia; 360-degree camera, Android Auto

As we have mentioned a few days ago, Nissan is set to launch its smallest SUV in Indonesia. Sure enough, the 2021 Nissan Magnite arrived in the country without much fanfare and bearing specs similar to the Magnite in India. The Magnite slots below the Nissan Kicks which was also launched in Indonesia earlier this year.

The new Nissan Magnite in Indonesia is powered by a HRA0 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces 100 PS and 160 Nm. The car also comes with a choice of 2 transmissions; a 5-speed manual and a CVT.

Like we’ve mentioned, the SUV bears similar specs with the Indian Magnite including its looks with its LED headlamps and matching DRLs. Nissan Indonesia is even offering the Magnite in its signature dual-tone body colour.
On the inside, the Magnite will feature a 7-inch full digital instrument cluster and an 8-inch touchscreen display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The display will also play host to the 360-degree view to make parking more convenient.

In terms of safety, the Magnite only gets 2 airbags and doesn’t feature any ADAS system but Nissan did fit the car with VSC.

The Magnite is actually the first Nissan in Indonesia to bear the new Nissan logo. In Malaysia, the new logo made its debut alongside the all-new 2020 Nissan Almera.
There’s no word yet on whether the Magnite would come to Malaysia but if it does, the Magnite will go head-to-head with the upcoming Perodua D55L as both cars measures less than 4 metres long. Would you take the Perodua or the Magnite if it does come to Malaysia?
