The 2023 Nissan Almera (N18) has been updated in Malaysia, and the small upgrade finally brings Android Auto smartphone compatibility to the model.

For the longest time – since its local launch in 2020 – the Honda City, Toyota Vios rival only came with Apple CarPlay support. This new addition brings the car on-par with the named rivals above, which had both options since long ago.

However, there is no official word yet on whether earlier purchasers of the model can update their headunit to have Android Auto. To be clear also, this isn't exactly the facelift too that our ASEAN neighbours have gotten recently, as official materials still show the car's pre-facelift look.

Other than this inclusion, the specs sheet for the Almera looks about the same as it was before this; also reflected in the unchanged price tag. Prices for the 2023 Nissan Almera in Malaysia are as follows:

• 1.0T VL: RM 83,888
• 1.0T VL-P: RM 89,888
• 1.0T VL-T: RM 95,888

The Tomei bodykit can be added on for another RM 1,000.

The Nissan Almera is driven by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine (100 PS/152 Nm), paired to a CVT automatic. In our experience it has proven to be the rather talented underdog; ranking pretty high up in terms of comfort and fuel efficiency.
