With 2024 ushering in, Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) has introduced a special edition of the Nissan Almera in Malaysia. Called the Almera Kuro (Black) Edition, the underappreciated B-segment sedan comes with factory-fitted styling enhancements.

Under the Kuro Package which costs RM 8,000, these styling upgrades include gloss black front grille cladding, gloss black alloy wheels, gloss black Tomei aerokit, sports pedals, and ice-cool tinting film. A gloss black boot lid spoiler is available for the VL and VLP variants while the top-of-the-line VLT comes exclusively with door handle protectors, kicking plates, and door visors.

Customers can also add on RM 3,200 for the Kuro GT Package which offers a Tomei GT Wing and 16-inch Impul Racing Aura HS-06 wheels. This package is limited to 300 vehicle sets and is exclusively available as an add-on to the higher VLP and VLT variants.

ETCM is offering a launch promotional price for the Kuro Package at RM 1,000 and RM 1,500 for the Kuro GT Package.

The N18 Almera offered in Malaysia is still the pre-facelift model, which is better-looking than the facelift launched in Thailand last year. Three variants of the locally assembled (CKD) Almera are offered here:

• Almera VL – RM 83,888
• Almera VLP – RM 89,888
• Almera VLT – RM 95,888

All three variants are powered by a turbocharged 1.0-litre 3-cylinder engine (100 PS/152 Nm) paired to a CVT automatic. Last year, ETCM introduced the Almera with an updated infotainment system that offers both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
