The new generation 2024 Mitsubishi Triton has won the iF Design Award 2024 in the product design discipline.

Organized by iF International Forum Design GmbH in Hannover, Germany, the annual iF Design Award receives around 11,000 submissions from 72 countries annually. A jury of 132 international design experts will judge submissions based on five criteria – idea, form, function, differentiation, and impact.

Other award recipients include the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, MINI Countryman, MINI Cooper Electric, BMW i5, and Ferrari Roma Spider.

Also receiving the same award was the Mitsubishi Xforce.

"We are truly honored to receive one of the most distinguished design awards in the world for the two all-new models we launched this fiscal year," said Seiji Watanabe, division general manager of design, Mitsubishi Motors. "I believe each model was recognized for expressing its own character in a unique form – the Triton shows a daring expression, and the Xforce adopts an agile look – while also combining robustness, which is typical of Mitsubishi Motors' design. This award will become our driving force in introducing the Triton and the Xforce to even more customers."

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia is expected to launch the new 2024 Mitsubishi Triton in the second quarter of this year. Expect higher prices though, mirroring the circa 10% increase in prices in Thailand.

The outgoing generation Triton is priced from RM 110,000 to RM 155,900, for double-cab 4x4 variants, in Peninsular Malaysia (from RM 112,000 to RM 157,900 for Sabah and Sarawak).

There’s also a low 0.88% interest rate financing, and RM 4,000 rebates. The AT Premium variant also gets free accessories upgrade, including a set of 18-inch Yokohama Geolander AT G015 tyres, at no extra cost.
