Porsche’s electric line-up will see the introduction of an SUV with the new Porsche Macan. The new Porsche Macan will receive an all-new platform called the PPE (Premium Platform Electric) that is an evolution of the J1 platform used in the all-electric Porsche Taycan.
The information we received are from a roundtable discussion with Mayk Wienkötter, Porsche AG, Spokesperson Product Line Taycan & E-Mobility and Jason Broome, Managing Director of Porsche Indonesia.

Further details on the Porsche Macan are yet to be shared by Porsche. Although developed on a new platform with an electric version in mind, the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) version of the Macan will still be available.
Unlike Lotus, Porsche has no plans on ditching its ICE cars. Porsche plans to continue forward on its “3 Pillars Strategy” which entails:
- Highly emotional ICE cars like the 911 (Manual transmission preserved)
- Hybrid PHEV (with improved electric performance)
- Purely electric vehicles
