Five, Malaysia’s newest homegrown petrol brand, is setting up a special collaboration with Green Packet to launch Malaysia’s first ever artificial intelligence-powered (AI) petrol station. The partnership will enable cashless digital experience across all its petrol stations.
The petrol stations will take advantage of advanced technologies such as AI and machine learning. Think of this like the new 2020 Range Rover Evoque with its AI Tech known as Smart Setting that learns the driver’s preferences as they drive.
Five will be utilising Green Packet’s suite of solutions including Electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC), eWallet, payment gateway and license plate recognition.

Both companies are working together to co-develop a new mobile application via its Kiple brand. The app will help with facilitating cashless payment and will also work as a medium to offer users with discounts, rewards, and even peer-to-peer transfer.
Five hopes that the AI-powered petrol station will provide a hassle-free fuelling experience and a seamless digital payment experience.
While cashless payment at petrol stations are now becoming common practice, the idea of making your fuel payment via license plate recognition is a method that we have not seen before.

The app will likely be very similar to Petronas’ Setel app since Setel is also powered by Green Packet’s KiplePay platform.
Five is a new homegrown petrol brand that was launched in March this year. Five Petroleum Malaysia’s main aim is to offer new entrepreneurs the chance to kick start their businesses in the fuel sector.
Fuel supply comes from Petronas. Currently, Five already has a handful of stations operational across Selangor.
