Set to be launched in Malaysia before the end of April, Isuzu Malaysia has revealed preliminary specifications of the upcoming all-new 2021 Isuzu D-Max.

Earlier, Isuzu Malaysia mentioned that the all-new D-Max will be fitted with ADAS features, but stopped short on providing further details.

According to a dedicated registration of interest (ROI) page, the all-new Isuzu D-Max looks to be segment-leading when it comes to safety, as it appears that upper variants of the pick-up truck will be getting a rather comprehensive list of safety equipment.

Isuzu D-Max finally gets ADAS

Isuzu Malaysia has done a swell job with the all-new D-Max safety credentials, as it is set to get a long list of ADAS features, such as:

• Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB)
• Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
• Pedal Misapplication Mitigation (AT only)
• Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go (ACC)
• Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
• Automatic High Beam (AHB)
• Blind Spot Monitor (BSM)
• Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA)

In fact, these features put the D-Max as one of the best-equipped pick-up in Malaysia, surpassing rivals such as the Mitsubishi Triton and Toyota Hilux. The Ford Ranger, in its Wildtrak trim, comes close, but it lacks Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

The all-new Isuzu D-Max also offers Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go – a feature that puts it above some C-segment sedans.

With prices estimated to be between RM 89,000 to RM 145,000 (including basic Single Cab variants), the all-new D-Max is slightly more expensive than before, but still well within the ballpark of other pick-up trucks (Ford Ranger Wildtrak: RM 156k, Toyota Hilux Rogue: RM 147k).

Seeing that the all-new Isuzu D-Max already outsells the Toyota Hilux in Thailand, can it repeat the same performance here in Malaysia?
