![All-new 2023 Suzuki Swift debuts - Gets 1.2L mild-hybrid and 5MT option 01]()
Following the concept preview in October, the fourth-generation all-new Suzuki Swift now makes its world debut, bringing forth a refreshed design, new powertrain, and updated ADAS features.
The major highlight is the newly developed 'Z12E' 1.2-litre 3-cylinder engine which is aided by a mild-hybrid (MHEV) system for increased torque and better fuel efficiency. The engine will be made available with a CVT-type automatic first and – Oh joy of joys – a 5-speed manual transmission, slated to follow in 2024.

Official power and economy figures have yet to be released, as well as news of the hot-blooded Swift Sport, which is currently powered by the 140 PS/230 Nm ‘Boosterjet’ 1.4-litre four-cylinder paired with either a 6-speed automatic or manual transmission, depending on the market.
The all-new Swift will also be offered with the Allgrip Auto AWD system in selected markets; the system uses a viscous coupling to engage the rear wheels when loss of traction is detected.

The new Swift also gets a significant boost in the safety department; receiving an array ADAS features that include Dual Sensor Brake Support II (which combines radar and a monocular camera), ACC with Stop and Go function, Lane Keep Assist, RCTA, Driver Monitoring System and Adaptive High Beam.
Elsewhere, the new Swift also features an entirely new interior design that connects the instrument panel and door trim to create a sense of space and unity within the cabin. The driver-focussed dash will feature a 9-inch infotainment system depending on the market. Suzuki also claims the driver’s seat is designed to provide a natural posture for greater ergonomics.

Additionally, Suzuki also touts the increased use of high-tensile steel plates and structural adhesives in the all-new Swift - improving body rigidity and ride comfort.
The all-new Swift will go on sale in Japan starting 13-December 2023 with other European markets to follow in 2024.
