When DRB-Hicom consolidated EON (Edaran Otomobil Nasional Bhd) with Proton Edar in 2012, EON was no longer a Proton dealer. Now though, EON has announced their return to selling Proton cars, plus a new logo.
This comes after reports of Proton undergoing a restructuring exercise to focus on manufacturing while leaving retail to dealers like EON. In the announcement, EON stated that the company now owns nine dealerships that were previously owned by Proton Edar.
Four of the branches are located within the central region while there are two each in Johor and Penang. This includes four 4S (sales, service, spares and spray) centres and three 3S outlets.
EON has also introduced a new logo, which is the third iteration of the company’s logo. It sports a stylised red “E” that sits within a blue diamond.
With Proton, EON expands its list of brands the company manages, including German marques Audi and Volkswagen as well as Japan’s Mitsubishi.
The quest for automotive knowledge began as soon as the earliest memories. Various sources information, even questionable ones, have been explored including video games, television, magazines, or even internet forums. Still stuck in that rabbit hole.
