Petronas has announced that 24 December 2019 onwards, all Petronas stations nationwide will dispense Euro 4M rated RON 95 petrol.
Petronas Primax 95 with Pro-Drive petrol now adheres to the new fuel specifications of Euro 4M with a maximum allowable sulphur content of 50 parts per million (ppm) from 500 ppm of Euro 2M grade fuels.
The emissions produced from high sulphur content fuels when mixed with the atmosphere forms acid rain and can lead to medical conditions and environmental damages.
Euro 4M rated fuels have 10x reduction in sulphur content helps to reduce vehicle emissions and leads to a cleaner environment in the long run.
According to WapCar.my fuel price tool, prices of the Euro 4M RON 95 remains unchanged at RM2.08 per litre.
Petronas Dagangan Berhad Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Sri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed M Tahir said, “Our RON 95 fuel has been upgraded to Euro 4M standard at all our stations since early December. With this upgrade, our customers will not just enjoy a smoother, more responsive and efficient drive, but also a cleaner fuel which works together with today's modern vehicles in reducing air pollution to deliver both health and climate benefits. Ultimately, PETRONAS Primax 95 with Pro-Drive is good for the engine, and the environment.”
Shell Malaysia has also upgraded its RON95 to Euro 4M rating but availability is currently limited to selected stations.
