The RM 22,000 Perodua Axia is the cheapest new car currently on sale in Malaysia. With prices now slashed by RM 2,000, the updated Axia E is aimed at getting families of 3 or more riding dangerously on motorcycles off their two-wheelers and into a car.
As a new car, the Axia E’s financing cost is also more favourable than a motorcycle, which typically carries a very high interest charge of around 10 percent or more.
Monthly installment for the Axia E can be as low as between RM 300 to RM 400, on a 9-year loan, comparable to a motorcycle.

Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad revealed today that the first 2,500 units of the 2023 Perodua E were sold out within 48 hours.
CEO Zainal said this when announcing Perodua’s sales performance for the first half of 2023.
The compact car specialist produced 153,813 cars in the first six months of 2023, up 17 percent compared to the same 6-month period last year.
It sold (vehicles registered to customers, not just delivered to dealers) 144,690 vehicles between January to June 2023, up 13.6 percent from the same 6-month period last year.
For the first time ever, the Perodua Bezza is its top-seller (40,555 units), overtaking the company’s traditional best-sellers the Perodua Myvi (32,319 units).
This also means that the Perodua Bezza is now Malaysia's No.1 car model, ahead of Proton Saga (33,325 units) and Perodua Axia (28,199 units)

The 1.0-litre Perodua Axia E is only available with a 5-speed manual transmission. It has no radio, no anti-lock brakes, but has dual airbags and air-conditioning.
