15-February 2024 will mark the entry of the all-new 2024 Mitsubishi Triton in Japan, breaking a 12-year hiatus for the model in the island nation.
The pick-up truck will be available in two double-cab variants: the GLS that starts from JPY 4,980,800 (~RM 161k) and the GSR, priced from JPY 5,401,000 (~RM 175k).
Both variants will be powered by the new 4N16 'clean-diesel' 2.4-litre turbocharged engine, making 203 PS and 470 Nm. A six-speed automatic transmission is the sole gearbox offered, and both the GLS and GSR will benefit from the famed Super Select II part-time 4WD system.

Other mechanical (standard) features are the Active Yaw Control (AYC), active limited-slip differential (LSD), and seven drive modes within. These include specific settings for economic driving, gravel, snow, mud, and sand drive modes.
It also gains a host of driver assist (ADAS) functions, with the list as below:
- Front Collision Mitigation [FCM]
- Adaptive Cruise Control [ACC]
- Emergency Assist for Pedal Misapplication [EAPM]
- Lane Departure Warning [LDW]
- Lane Departure Prevention [LDP]
- Blind Spot Warning with Lane Change Assist [BSW/LCA]
- Rear Cross-Traffic Alert [RCTA]
- Automatic High Beam [AHB]
- Traffic Sign Recognition [TSR]
- Driver Attention Alert [DAA]
The main differences between both variants are mostly to do with aesthetics, with the GSR gaining a front bumper garnish, fender arch mouldings, a bed liner, and a sports bar. Inside, both cars are similar, save for the GSR gaining orange accents to add a "sense of quality and fearlessness".

Interior specs aren't revealed just yet but it shouldn't differ too much from what the Thailand car gets, i.e. leather seats, a 7-inch digital screen flanked by two analogue dials, rear air-cond vents, and a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Further to that, the all-new Triton will be making its way to Malaysia later this year.
