Despite the price hike for the all-new 2024 Honda CR-V in Thailand, the sixth-generation SUV has remained the most popular choice in its segment since its launch. From April onwards, the all-new CR-V kicked the Haval H6 off the top spot and has not moved since.
However, September’s sales data compiled by Autolife Thailand showed that not only has the Honda CR-V continued to be Thailand’s best-selling C-segment SUV of the month, but it also absolutely decimated the competition.
September’s sales were also the highest on record for the all-new CR-V, easily beating the month before when it sold 658 units. Between August and September, sales of the all-new CR-V in Thailand shot up 77%.
That boost helped the CR-V to maintain its position as Thailand’s best-selling C-segment SUV of 2023 with 5,935 units sold which accounts for 50.7% market share.
The Thai-spec CR-V is available in 5 variants – three turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol (192 PS/240 Nm) variants and two 2.0-litre dual motor i-MMD full hybrid (Combined 185 PS/335 Nm) variants. Prices for the CR-V in the Kingdom range between THB 1,419,000 to THB 1,729,000 (~RM 186k-227k).
The all-new CR-V has been launched in our neighbours including Indonesia and most recently the Philippines. It should be arriving in Malaysia by the end of the year as Honda Malaysia announced back in March that it plans to launch 4 new models in 2023.
Following the launches of the Honda WR-V, Honda City facelift, and the FL5 Honda Civic Type R, all that remains is the all-new CR-V which has been spotted on our roads in disguise. However, do expect a massive price bump as seen in all of our neighbours in the ASEAN region thus far.
