MKN: No interstate travel restrictions for Aidiladha 01

With Friday’s public holiday looming, most Malaysians are looking forward to going back to their hometowns for the long weekend and to celebrate Aidiladha with the family. But with the fluctuating number of positive COVID-19 cases in the past few days, some are not so sure whether it is feasible to 'balik kampung'.

In a recent announcement by Senior Minister (Security), Datuk Seri Ismail Yaakub, there will be no restrictions to travel across state lines in this upcoming Aidiladha holiday.

However, there have been some SOPs implemented for the festive period which are:

  • SOP Korban – Limited to only 20 people per animal, and a maximum of 10 animals per mosque or surau.
  • SOP Hari Raya – Limited to a maximum of 20 guests allowed per visit during the Aidiladha celebration.

In short, the public is allowed to return back to their hometowns in the coming days to celebrate Aidiladha.

As for those who are under home quarantine, they are not allowed to go out of their houses or to go back to their hometowns, and are not allowed to accept visitors to their homes.

If you're one of those folks who are planning to 'balik kampung' this weekend, please drive safe and obey all traffic rules.
