The Perodua Myvi is up to something again and don’t worry, it’s not being a nuisance. Instead, the Myvis are proving they can wade through the flood like a Ford Ranger as multiple cars were spotted going through the flood like a champ.
Unlike the adorable Wuling Mini EV, which was basically just floating through the floodwaters, the Myvis in the 3-minute video calmly broke the water surface like a pick-up truck would.
The Myvi models in the video range from the first generation to the current generation. One of them was even seen managing the flood with a damaged front bumper.
However, though the Myvi has proven it can tackle the flood easily, we wouldn’t recommend doing so. To put it lightly, if water goes into the engine it can self-destruct. Then you’ll be facing a hefty repair bill.
If you really do need to drive through a flood, well then, we can only recommend you to follow the examples these Myvi drivers are doing by breaking through the water and creating a bow wave.
Once you’re in the water, do not stop or else the wave will subside and the water will enter your engine. And remember to turn off your air-conditioning before you head into the water!
There isn’t a time in memory that doesn’t involve staring at cars. After discovering the excitement of watching Schumacher vs Hakkinen, Formula 1 became a major part of life. The love for cars and F1 ultimately led to a job with CAR Magazine. The untimely death of the magazine meant a hiatus from cars at lifestyle women’s magazine Marie Claire before another opportunity came knocking again.
