Following its launches in Japan and Thailand, Mazda’s Malaysian distributor Bermaz Motor has launched the refreshed 2024 Mazda 2 here. Fully imported from Thailand, Mazda’s entry model is offered as both a sedan and hatchback with prices as follows:

• Mazda 2 1.5L Sedan/Hatchback – RM 108,670 (+RM 5,000, up from RM 103,670)
• Mazda 2 1.5L Sedan/Hatchback (Soul Red Crystal) – RM 109,170 (+RM 5,000, up from RM 104,170)

As listed in the variants above, both the sedan and hatchback models are similarly priced with a RM 150 premium for the Soul Red Crystal colour. Essentially only one variant is offered for both and one powertrain.

Carrying over from the pre-facelift is a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre Skyactiv-G that makes 114 PS/149 Nm and is paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Outside, the 2024 Mazda 2 has been updated with a more distinctive look with a new black honeycomb grille with a red accent and 16-inch black and chrome alloy wheels.

Inside, the dashboard trims are now black while the seat material features Black Leatherette and suede with Red Stitching. Standard features on both the sedan and hatchback include automatic headlights, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a 7-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as a reverse camera with guidelines.

Aside from Soul Red Crystal, the refreshed Mazda 2 is also offered with other hues like Snowflake White Pearl and Platinum Quartz. Polymetal Gray and AirStream Blue are exclusive to the hatchback while Aero Gray is only offered for the sedan.

The 2024 Mazda 2 is now officially open for booking and comes with a 5-year/100,000-km Manufacturer’s Warranty and 5-year/100,000-km free maintenance.
