The Nissan Navara Pro-4X does look properly rugged out of the box, but it didn’t quite have the mechanical prowess to truly challenge the Ford Ranger Raptor. Until now, as the Nissan Navara Pro-4X Warrior has just been revealed, which is limited to only the Australian market.
Nissan has enlisted the help of an Australian engineering firm – Premcar – to boost the Navara’s off-road capability. Premcar is said to be chosen by Nissan as it was able to develop a unique vehicle package that was specific to Australian conditions.

Although specific information has yet to be disclosed, preliminary details revealed that the Navara Warrior gets an increased ground clearance courtesy of an upgraded suspension, which is said to also improve ride and handling. The increased ride height is complemented by Cooper Discoverer all-terrain tyres.
The exterior also sees a few changes, such as the body-coloured bull bar with integrated light bar and the red-painted bash plate for underbody protection.
Powertrain is expected to remain unchanged, with a 2.3-litre twin-turbocharged diesel engine that makes 190 PS/450 Nm, mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission.
Equipment wise, the Navara Warrior is expected to mirror the standard Pro-4X variant in Australia, apart from a few bespoke touches in the interior such as floor mats and seats.
