![JPJ to resume all operations on starting 18 May]()
The Road Transport Department Malaysia (JPJ) has announced that they will be reopening counters and services come 18 May 2020.
Previously, all JPJ offices were ordered to close during the second week of the Movement Control Order. This was due to the overwhelming number of people still going to the offices despite the warning to stay home and avoid crowded areas.
Now that the government has implemented a Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO), Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong, has deemed it safe to resume all JPJ services, for both commercial users and private individuals.

He announced that for the time being, all JPJ counters will be open 7 days a week to ease the influx of people who were unable to head to a JPJ counter during the MCO period. Counters will open from 8am to 4pm on weekdays and 8am to 1pm on weekends.
As it is, JPJ has already been gradually reopening their services for the renewal of commercial vehicles and licenses. Now that all services are fully operational, personal renewal of licenses are allowed as well.
Dr Wee also encourages the use of E-Payments at counters. Cash payments are only allowed between 8am to 11am. While E-wallets and credit/ debit card payments are accepted all day.
As mentioned, JPJ counters will remain 7 days a week, no word yet on when they will return to the standard 6-day work week. Dr Wee has stated that the offices will be close from 23 May to 26 May for the Raya holiday before opening again on 27 May.
