With the new 2024 Mitsubishi Triton set for a global debut in Thailand on 26 July 2023, prototypes are being actively tested under heavy camo but one of the shots released does give us a clear look at the new cabin design.
Nonetheless, the prototype pictured here doesn’t quite have the complete interior and dashboard in place as many cabin elements were ripped out for weight savings and the installation of a roll-cage.

Still, singular components such as the design of the steering wheel, speedometer, air-conditioning control panel and air conditioning vents are clearly pictured.
The Triton prototype here is prepped for the Asia Cross Country Rally (AXCR) 2023, which explains the racing safety gear as well as the bucket seats with manual transmission. These units started the test session in Japan since April 2023 and the test was carried out by Team Mitsubishi Ralliart and the technical department of Mitsubishi Motors.

Part of the gruelling testing included 5 days of hardcore off-road driving that covered 840 km to ensure the durability and robustness of the components.
“The all-new rally Triton takes the prowess of the base model to improve handling performance, driving stability and ride comfort. The improvements to the turbo can also speed up the engine’s response regardless of low or high RPM,” said Team Mitsubishi Ralliart Director, Hiroshi Masouka.
“The new Triton is a great rally car and can go through any surface and road conditions. We have tested 800 km for each prototype and there are no problems to report. I’m confident that the performance exceeds our expectations and I feel a great aura to support our winning streak,” he added.
