While the Geely Emgrand is set to be the next and first Geely sedan model to be given the Proton thundercat emblem as the Proton S70, the Malaysian Tiger’s Chinese parent has a few other potential sedans that might follow suit.
One of them is the Geely Binrui which sits on the same B-segment Modular Architecture (BMA) platform as the upcoming Proton S70/Geely Emgrand as well as the Proton X50/Geely Binyue. Despite being labelled as a B-segment sedan, its dimensions show a longer and wider car than the average B-sedan.

The Binrui Cool is marketed to be more performance-oriented than the rest of the Binrui line-up. That includes the obviously aggressive “Racing Storm” design philosophy in the form of the sporty front and rear bumpers, 17-inch blacked-out rims, bright-coloured brake callipers, and a carbon-fibre-wrapped rear spoiler.
The edgy design continues inside with semi-bucket front seats with Alcantara trims in the middle, and pulsating ambient lighting on the door panels. The latter reminds me of a gaming PC peripheral.

What do you think of the Binrui Cool? Is it as cool as the name suggests? Check out what Adrian thinks of the S70/Emgrand’s sedan sibling in the video below. Proton's upcoming sedan could still be called the S50 as P1 has not confirm or deny its name.
