Our Indonesian neighbours have just had the new 2022 Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid launched over there by PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales, making it the first hybrid B-segment MPV there, as reported by our sister site AutoFun.
Although consisting primarily of 2 main trims, the transmission options of a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic sees a total of 7 variants that’re priced as follows:
- Ertiga GA MT : IDR 225,100,000 (~RM 66,500)
- Ertiga GL MT : IDR 248,500,000 (~RM 73,400)
- Ertiga GL AT : IDR 259,500,000 (~RM 76,650)

An easy way to differentiate the 2 main trim levels is via the interior wood trim for the GX and the faux carbon on the Sport.

A mild hybrid system, it’s dubbed the Suzuki Smart Hybrid and is still based on the same 1.5-litre 4-cylinder K15B engine but with the integration of 2 components; the ISG (Integrated Starter Generator) and 12V 6Ah lithium-ion battery. Outputs are 105 PS and 138 Nm of torque.
The system functions by switching off the engine when the car stops without disruptions to the auxiliaries such as air-conditioning and the radio.

Positioned under the front passenger seat, the battery supplies power to run the auxiliaries when the engine is temporarily switched off in traffic by the start-stop system.
Nonetheless, much like newer mild hybrids, the ISG and battery restarts the engine when the driver gets on the accelerator. This leads to a smoother and quieter reengagement of the petrol engine.
Apart from those main points, Suzuki has carried out more revisions to the Ertiga:
- New Design Front Grille
- New Auto Retractable Outside Mirror
- New Antenna Type
- New Chrome Backdoor Garnish
- New Design MID (Multi Information Display)
- New Color Interior Ambience
- New Interior Ornament
- New Color Seat Material
- Cruise Control
- Gear Shift Indicator (GSI) in manual variant
- Autolight with Guide Me Light
- ESP
- Hill Hold Control
You can have the Ertiga Hybrid in 7 different shades, Pearl Snow White, Prime Cool Black, Metallic Magma Gray, New Mellow Deep Red, Metallic Silky Silver, Pearl Brave Khaki, and Pearl Burgundy Red.
All of the variants come with a battery warranty of 5 years or 100,000 km, whichever comes first.
